There was this ice cream place on the boardwalk in Avalon, New Jersey that used to have this unbelievable sign warning people about seagulls stealing your food. It was put up some time circa 2010.
The top image is my photo from 2014 when it was already sun-bleached and out front of the shop. The second photo is from 2016 when they bizarrely hung it up on the side of the building, in spite of the sun-bleached nature of it making it completely incomprehensible.
Third and fourth photos are the original photographs used on the sign (I can’t find the actual origin of them unfortunately). These are un-watermarked, but the shop’s sign literally stole the images from a Dutch(?) website that had watermarks on them, so I found and used those in my re-creation to keep it true to the original. Note the photoshopped pizza and paper plate clipart on the sign vs the original photographs lmaoo
I don’t have any non sun-bleached photos of the sign, but I do remember in the early 2010s when it was full color. But anyway... the bottom image is my personal re-creation of the beautiful sign based on my memory of it from its glory days, complete with photoshopped clipart and watermarks intact.
A few years ago, the Avalon boardwalk threw away the sign, so this is all we have left of this delightful beach sign. I hope you all enjoyed my story
