During the noughties I always paid attention to what Anticon Records released. Bands like Why?, 13 & God, Themselves: they all made this hiphop like indie pop music. Hard to describe. Fog was also one of the artists. I haven’t heard this kind of music the last couple of years. It’s maybe a bit dated, but it brings back good memories.

still honestly a little undecided on the ups & downs of Anticon signing another of my favorite MCs, Beans of Antipop (the other being recent signee Serengeti). Beans is always a rhythmic beast, thats just to be expected and, while the beat is a little quiet here, the clip gives us a dope preview of his latest solo effort which is said to feature beats from Four Tet, Tobacco, Clark and more.. man, if you didn't know, Grouch is dope. i remember buying this CD ("Making Perfect Sense") at Manifest back in '99-00 before i owned a computer. i knew him from his cameos on MJ's "Black Sands" (also a classic in my book.) after hearing his solo work and seeing that he produced a lot of the tracks as well, he def became a favorite. i've found now, almost 12 years later, that i can always go back to his music when i need a little inspiration, a sort of pep talk i suppose.
