Here is my avatar au characters so far.
We got Aayan, a high ranked office of the new formed Dai li government (Yeah the Dai Li are back worse in my au) and he's a GNARLY metal bender and earth bender.
Bo is also a Dai li, but he is lower ranked. He was orphaned, and General Xiong had him work in the army since he was 12. Bo isn't a metal bender, but a damn good earth bender. Bo is Aayan and Jun's friend but he feels more like the third wheel whenever Aayan lights up when Jun enters a room.
Then we got Jun.
Jun was adopted by General Xiong when Jun was only 8. Jun doesn't talk about how or why..but it's obvious someone killed his parents. Jun follows his adoptive father around, wanting to join the battles so he can make him proud.. Xiong keeps Jun's identity as the avatar a secret..only for Jun to open to Bo about his past, revealing himself as the avatar..eventually it got out.
Avatar Jun being..well a brat.
Don't worry, he's just in his stinker era.
Avatar Jun.
in your avatar au, is the world very different from how it is in canon? and do any of the main characters have any particularly strong feelings about the world? (or maybe the individual nations?)
My au is VERY different to seven havens for sure. It's mostly picking up and elaborating on what Korra set up, along with my silly oc inserted (Lusa and Mako's grandkids being a big part of the story)
It starts with Korra realizing it's gonna be a lot harder for anyone to find this new avatar since Korra is the new avatar of an era.. Korra seeks wisdom from the spirits and meets these deities who knew the second avatar.
The recommended she create "the Oracle" who will reincarnate along with the avatar. They can identify one another and would eliminate any corrupting figures. (Like, what if the white lotus turned bad like the earth/fire sages? No need to fear, the oracle will find the avatar)
Biyu is adopted by Korra and Asami.
While that's going on..they earth kingdom is fracturing further cause no shit this would happen?? A group starts to rise in power within the earth kingdom..meanwhile bataar Jr. And Kuvira had a baby...well Kuvira never told Bataar and abandoned the child, fearing she couldn't raise him without making his life harder..
Well that said group, a off shoot of the Dai Li, end up grooming this kid into a violent follower. His name is Xiong.
Xiong kills Kuvira to prove himself to be not only loyal to the cause but to ensure NO ONE will ever cross him. Xiong sends Kuvira to Korra as a message. BTW he's like 15 at that point.
When Xiong is 20, the New Dai Li has expanded..mirroring his mother's legacy. Korra tried to but an end to it, but Xiong managed to kill Korra. Biyu was 20, Korra was 45. Bolin and Opal are also kidnapped during this altercation. Poor Mako and Asami were DEVASTATED.
Xiong at 28 found avatar Jun after Jun's avatar state killed his parents..Xiong took him in, adopting Jun and trained him as a New Dai Li agent.
Jun starts off as..well very pro earth kingdom, pro Dai Li since his adoptive father is brainwashing him.
Hide is Mako and Lusa's grandson. He's a firebender.
Kina is Mako and Lusa's granddaughter, she's a waterbender.
Biyu is the oracle, now in her 40s and is a nonbender (all oracles are nonbenders.)
Dalika is an airbender.
Their goal is to find the avatar and train him and stop the Earth kingdom from invading the fire nation (the New Dai Li have no ill against the Northern water tribe and airbenders in general. The New Dai Li is at war with the fire nation and the southern water tribe for literally just..hiding a firebender once)
The setting is very much "cold war" almost like 1960's 70s and even some 80s influence since this show somewhat mirrors our world? But im gonna mix those time periods a little..
I can go on if you let me lol
