All things considered, he'd settled in fine. If there was one thing Vin could do, it was write, and although he'd always had enough journalistic spirit that this wasn't too stark a career change, not with his experience of publishing an exclusive journal for witches or actual sometimes actual books. It's not without quirks, but he's found that it all suits him as much as it ever could, and the newspaper had really needed somebody to fill in for one of their brightest reporters while she was off turning into a vampire.
Ah, the things you consider normal in the supernatural community.
Honestly, his fresh eye might just be what the town needed, someone without skin in the game or any real connection to all the shit that'd gone down. It'd helped him gain a perspective on the town that had shut his father's family out for generations. The council seemed rather inept, and he still questioned the safety of any kind of sanctum that could've allowed such failings in the first place, but it wasn't as if Vincent knew anybody who'd been hurt in the fight. Just the cold hard facts.
Just like every other morning since he'd started in this place, Vin is already at his desk with a cup of coffee long before he officially has to start, but something (or, someone) catches his eye when she enters the room. He's well acquainted with the interns and the other staff by now, but her?
Well, it can only be Aeri Jeong. The warlock can't help but smile and sip his coffee as he studies her, the last piece of a puzzle better known as his workplace.
"Aeri, right? I don't believe we've met,"
