I guess it depends on one's own standpoint. personally, I'd like to learn the truth rather than pursue it, because pursuing can be fruitless and I'd prefer an answer. however, part of me would want to pursue the truth for purpose, it gives direction and movement to a life. BUT ALSO: who's to say that the truth you're given is the truth you're looking for, therefore will you be aware it's the truth?
right? Like, I want to know things. If I ask someone I love a very important question, I’d rather have them tell me the truth than have chase after it. I want the real thing. I don’t want the “you’d rather hear this” answer or the “close enough” answer. Truth is all things to me in that moment.
But, like you’re saying, that makes the potential for “truth” not being truth at all, even worse. Holding a lie as truth is worse than having nothing to begin with.
more important to find the truth or to pursue the answer?
