Just figured out why sometimes I hear someone sprint up the metal stairs at the front door at night but don't hear anyone leave.

I hear the sound and think, "Ok, I don't care if I get eaten by a demon, I want to know what the hell that was."

I go down stairs and look through the window next to the door... I don't see anything but can vaguely make out movement.

So I turn on the lights, ready to face hell, and who's sitting on the windowsill...

That little shit cat from our neighbours who comes by for food sometimes. And I remember that before I heard him coming up the stairs, there was the sound of some cats starting a figth. I had thought that sound came from a different direction.

So yeah, no demons, just an idiot biting of more than he can chew and then gracefully retreating to higher grounds.
