🎨: Jack and I got the visit we were waiting for. When I went to San Myshuno to see Avery, I asked her to help us find a lawyer to handle the adoption.
Samara (Avery's wife) has a vet tech who went to Buttercup vet school in Brindelton Bay named Nora York. Nora's instructor, the famous Heather Gordon, gave her the name of a close friend. Apparently, Nora overheard our conversation and started asking around. She got the lawyer's name when she attended the wedding of a friend.
Felix Psyded was...well, for lack of a better term, charming. He and Jack hit it off immediately. Felix told us a little about his life, his wife and kids, and his family court history, leaving out confidential information. His name seemed so familiar. I asked Avery if she recognized it from anywhere, but she seemed as unsure as I was.
Finally, we got down to business. We really wanted a "private" adoption. In other words, we wanted to keep the media out of our business. Felix said he would start by immediately finding Drew’s father and serving him with the paperwork to sign away his rights to ensure he couldn't make trouble for us in the future. He was a hard man to pin down, but I had faith in Felix. The other part of the job was to find Eliza and have her served with paperwork to either pay child support and abide by the court-ordered visitation or sign away her rights. We were praying for the latter. We didn't need her child support, but we figured it might sway her if she thought she would have to pay for a child she didn't want.
At the end, Jack and I signed a couple of contracts and forms, and then Felix told us he would see us soon. His confidence that he could get this done with minimal court visits gave me hope. Thank the watcher of Felix.
*Thank you 🙏🏽 @abbysimsfun for lending Kennedy and Jack your esteemed lawyer. I mean, Felix slayed a dragon when he beat the Landgraabs at a custody battle. This is a slam dunk in comparison!
