"So, what brings someone like you out this way? Especially to a rundown place like this," she smiles, "Just wanting to get a change of scenery?"

"Mommy!" John chirped happily, "Mommy!"

John and his little sister, Sally Soleil, had awakened from their naps. They were both standing in their respective cribs. John was a product of the Overlook Hotel. He was the literal love child of Jack Torrance and Dean Winchester. However, Jack Torrance and Dean Winchester were estranged from each other.

Fortunately, Jack's second ex-wife, Tiffany Valentine, returned to the Overlook Hotel after the estrangement between Jack and Dean. John is a magical baby and is beyond intelligent, but he is stuck in a one-year-old's body. He talks like a one-year-old, but you can understand, for the most part, what he's saying. His little sister, Sally Soleil, is also a child of the Winchestorrance marriage. However, she was a surrogate baby.

She is currently a year old. John's magical abilities include diapers that change on their own. He is a mostly happy baby. However, he will cry if he is in pain or if he knows someone or something sinister is around him.

What was she laughing about? was he not supposed to? if it came from the radio, if it was being announced to the public, then it had to be true, no? -- Nandor didn't know what to answer. He didn't know if he should laugh and quickly change the subject, or admit to this accusation. "It's... interesting stuff. If you pay attention to it, you learn a lot."

"I know this is going to sound kind of sudden, Sam...But I want you to take something and keep it with you at all times, okay? You don't have to wear it or anything but just keep it in a jacket pocket or stashed somewhere safe...Think of it as a little 'good luck' charm." And she's handing over a small gold amulet with a red stone. She might have enchanted it to provide some protection just for him.

❝ Hmm? — Oh. I, uh… don’t know what to say. Thanks? I’ll keep it with me, promise. ❞ Arm eagerly outstretches and a large hand comes to gently grasp the amulet. He lets it rest openly in his palm for a moment, looking it over while tilting his wrist slowly to catch the light’s reflection from it. A warm smile graces the hunter’s face and once he’s done inspecting and admiring the stone, his gaze flits up to meet her own. ❝ I feel bad I don’t have anything t’ give back, but once I do think of something just know I’ll be around. ❞
