"Call me a goddamn werewolf one more fucking time!" Will growled, looming over the other, "I can assure you, I have more class than your run-of-the-mill lycanthrope, but right now, my patience is reaching its end."
Do you ever feel like a child stuck in adult clothing?
I'm watching Child Star: The Shirley Temple Story from Disney, and I realized something: I'm just Shirley if she were a mixed-race, neurodivergent, disabled 28-year-old nonbinary college student studying musical theater, with tattoos and ear piercings. I have a baby voice, and I like having my hair curled like Shirley's, 56, and not another curl more. I love having my hair like Belle's from Beauty and the Beast, but it never stays like the curls do. I have Baby Doll dresses. I feel like a doll.
He said that I have Insertional Achilles Tendinopathy and I need to do physical therapy. I was at a local place for my concussion/possible POTS symptoms. Now, I need to go back for this injury, so I don't end up with tendonitis and needing surgery like my mom. I have two paid gigs next Saturday! How am I supposed to do that without a boot? Also, when the specialist and his student touched my heel, I thought I was going to burst into tears. It was so painful. I think I heard another pop when I was on the paratransit bus today, coming home from the appointment. And felt something else when I was going into the kitchen. I took some Pepto for nausea. It's not helping all that much. I think I may need to go back to the specialist next week or to the urgent care tomorrow because I can feel that something's off. Something's not right.
I just learned John Stamos is NOT a Maga member. Someone made a fake video stating he was raising money for a certain evil cheeto. They had me there for a while.
Hello, my name is Journey Medina, but I go by the name Jem. I am a non-binary,… Jem Belle needs your support for Help Jem Bring Home a Servi
This is an updated version from this past December:
Hello, everyone! My name is Jem. I am a disabled, neurodivergent, plus-sized, nonbinary Pennsylvanian in need of a service animal. My service animal of choice is a miniature horse. Yes, they are considered service animals under the ADA.
I cannot have another dog in my house because my current dog, Delta Dawn, would try to attack it, regardless of meeting the service dog on neutral ground, especially with a larger breed of dog. I know my dog. She is very territorial and can get very jealous. However, she likes dogs that are her size or smaller. I have been told by multiple people multiple times to get a service dog over a service miniature horse and to wait until I either have my own place or until my current dog dies. They do not understand that disabilities are not monolithic.
Personally, I prefer a miniature horse over a dog as my service dog for a few reasons. The first reason is: I've always been a horse person more than a dog person. The second reason is: I'm a tall plus-sized individual. I would not want to harm the dog because they can't handle my weight, should I lose my balance. The third reason is that it would not only fulfill a childhood dream of owning a miniature horse, but it would be beneficial to my health.
However, I am allergic to hay, which is the only setback. I can find other alternatives for it for bedding, but it's a must-have for food. Unfortunately, I do have to fight the township for my right to have the miniature horse on my property. I did speak to PA Disability Rights in the fall of 2024, and they said to have it in writing that I require the miniature horse. They denied me the right to have the miniature horse, despite having documentation on why I need the mini, and told me it would be considered livestock, since they don't recognize it as a service animal.
Right now, I am looking at miniature horses that were therapy animals in both Michigan and Florida. There is another disease spreading in the horse world since the last time I posted this post. It's from a screwworm. I am also looking into a trainer, so the transition from therapy animal to a service miniature horse smoother, if I go for the Florida option, since they don't potty train their minis. The reasons I need a service animal are as follows:
Mobility: When I was eight years old, I broke my left growth plate on a slip 'n slide at Y-Camp. It's been 20 years. Ever since, my left ankle will occasionally give out, and I will constantly sprain it. I am now possibly dealing with a torn or ruptured Achilles tendon.
AuDH/Mental Illness: I am on the Autism spectrum, and I am also diagnosed with ADHD. A service animal is trained to help their handler to focus their attention on a task. They are also trained to do deep pressure therapy, retrieve items, create boundaries, and stop impulsive behaviors. I have anxiety, depression, and a few other mental illnesses. As stated in reason two, the service animal is trained to do all those tasks. Plus, they can be trained for medication reminders and help me navigate my way through a crowd when I get disoriented from my anxiety.
Low Blood Sugar: Both type-1 and type-2 diabetes run in my family on both sides. I do get low blood sugar, but to my knowledge, I am not pre-diabetic or diabetic. The service animal would be trained to detect it and alert me when that happens.
Food allergies: I have a few food allergies: seafood, sesame, and dairy. The service animal would be trained to detect those ingredients in my food.
Companionship and desensitization: My dog, Delta, would benefit from being desensitized to horses. She is afraid of the standard-sized buggy horses, so having a mini would be beneficial for her. Obviously, I would train her to be nice to the miniature horse before they meet, but it would be nice for her to have a buddy. I can also schedule playdates with the miniature horse with other horse owners.
Possible POTS diagnosis: It won't be until July 7th that I might get diagnosed with POTS. I've been experiencing symptoms for years, but never knew what it was until this past year.
In conclusion, I would like this fundraiser to be spread. I will appreciate all the help I can get with this fundraiser. If you have any questions, please send them to my inbox, and I will answer them.
