Aviankin/Avian Kemonomimi flag
Flag for aviankins or avian kemonomimi!
This is primarily for Avian kemonomimi or avian otherkin (no full of bird but have features of a bird, kind of harpy like) however, anyone can use this!
plucking the lint off my sweater? more like preening my feathers.
Hello my beautiful birds!
I have a very, very great app to share with you today. It is called Ultimate Bird Sim, available for IOS and GooglePlay. Let me begin by just saying that this alone has helped my dysphoria a tenthfold. The designers did a great job animating appropriate flight patterns for each species. You can hunt, fish, forage, fly, soar, build nests, explore four different “islands”, and raise a family. You can dominate a mate or bond with them over food. The game does cost 99 cents, but in all honesty, it is the best dollar I have ever spent on an app. I highly recommend it for birds!
Fellow birds of tumblr, take this into account for how to model your species body language!!
I have a new theriotype(s?)
I am a great horned/eurasian eagle owl. I noticed a lot of my bird like behaviors better fit these two versus the harpy eagle. Not to mention… my owl call skills are VERY good. There’s more in depth reasons but when you are an animal thoughts and words aren’t meant for you. I’m trying to figure out my feather colors right now as well. But these images definitely describe it. I feel as though my feathers may be a blend of both
whinnies at you!! a few questions about being a kookaburra:
ᯓ★ what are your favorite and least favorite things about being a kookaburra?
ᯓ★ what would a day in your life look like if you were a theriform kookaburra living in your natural habitat?
ᯓ★ do you guys have specific roles in your flocks, and if so, what role do you play?
no pressure ^__^
idk HOW I never saw this... but I will answer for you :3
My favorite parts of being a kookaburra is that I am fairly big bird, so most smaller ones don't mess with me. I also have a lot of love from humans, they think me and my flock are funny. I also am never bored, I've got my flock with me. Least favorite thing about being a kookaburra? I still am a target for wedge tailed eagles and venomous arboreal snakes, so i have to be really careful. Which is why I prefer a more urban setting. I've noticed there aren't many predators there. But there's a lot of buildings and so that means less space to build a nest ):
If I was a theriform kookaburra in my natural habitat, which would be Geelong Australia, it would be nice. I would be up as the sunrises and call out trilling with my flock. We would spend a while preening and "talking". Then we would be off for some group hunting time. Midday after meals are spent just staying cool and digesting, more preening. We stay out of peak sun time because it's quite hot. Then when the evening comes we try to hunt some more, and then do a little more trilling laughs as the sun sets to reconvene with flock members who are a bit further away.
We don't have roles in flocks as kookaburras! We have a decent social group but no member is the more important one. But my flock is made up of grown up versions of previous years's chicks, me, current chicks, and family. Dominant breeding pairs from other year's.
Thank you so much for the ask!
im having a sort of dilemma right now. i want to identify myself as an avianthrope; but my identity is more closely related to being a physcial avianthrope. the thing is, i don’t believe that it is a delusion at all. i just feel as though one day, or at some point, i am or will be biologically human AND my avian theriotype. i feel as though it is in my DNA. is this considered to be clinical zoanthropy?
i will definitely reassess this when my medication dose is fixed because it may just be that, but i would really like to hear input from others.
