Warm Bodies (2013)
It's very rare that a romance film really shakes me to the core. Most of the time, I watch a romance and the most I can manage is "Meh." It's my long standing belief, in fact, that romance movies are shit. However, this movie changed my mind. A movie so powerful...so gripping...it blew my mind. That movie is Warm bodies.
Some might wonder where the passion would come from with a mindless husk of a human being, but Nicholas Hoult as R had me convinced at "Brains." Infact, he was so moving, so gripping, I'm going to type the rest of this paragraph in zombie language. Brains brains brains, brains brains, brains brains brains. Brains brains brains brains brains. Brains brains, brains BRAINS BRAINS BRAINS, brains brains brains brains. Brains brains, brains brains brains.
What really amazed me was how believable the tension between R and Teresa Palmer as Julie was. Not since great epic's such as New Moon, How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days, and Romeo and Juliet have I seen such love between two human beings, even if one was deceased. However, there is one complaint that I have about the two: the sex scene. It clearly was to short. I mean come on movie makers, it barely left any impact. We need to still be remembering it as we leave the theatres. At least I actually felt like he wanted to shag her brains out. Another thing I loved was the love triangle in the film as Julie found herself also attracted to an elf played by Chris Tucker. I believe this is something all teenage girls can relate to. I mean, who hasn't had to choose between a deep, brooding male who wants to nibble your brains and this guy? A plotline for the ages.
All in all, Warm Bodies was a movie for the ages, and I was surprised to find out there's so many sequels planned. In fact, leaked drafts for the next four films are already circulating the internet; Warm Bodies 2: Electric Brainsaloo, Warm Bodies Episode 3: Revenge of the Brains, and the all out block buster epic: Warm Bodies 4ever after. Now if you don't mind, I need to go rent eleven copies of "Nativity!" while plan out my let's play of the greatest game ever, Sonic The Hedgehog (2006).

This is all to do with the last link I put up, where a radical christian group, the "Christians for a Moral America", prayed for the death of George Micheal, who is currently recovering from Pneumonia, for his "Satanic Lifestyle". In other words, because he's gay and he has a history of partaking in drugs. Regardless of what you think of George Micheal a singer, the fact remains that as a person, he 1) has made huge contribution to charity more than once, and is currently supporting a campaign to raise £15 million for terminally ill children, and 2) He is ultimately a peaceful human being who wants equality for everyone. As far as the drugs thing is concerned, who the hell cares? It's his personal life. If you think god gives a shit about him smoking Cannabis when people like Keith exists, then God has his priorities screwed. As for the homosexuality point, that's where I start to get pissed. The link talks about a man named John Shore, a christian author, who wrote a book called "Wings on a Pig: Why the 'Christian' view on Gays doesn't work'. He say's that while working on the book, he learned "for every one person like Keith I've ever known — for every person who's ever fanatically endeavored to transmogrify the beautiful love of God into the horrible hatred of men — I've known 200 who are quietly and humbly working, in Christ's name, to make the world a better, more loving place for all." I'm sorry John, but I'm really beginning to not see this. I'm not saying that there isn't kind hearted Christians in this world, but to me it seems that for every single person who actually LISTENS to Christ's message about peace, tolerance and learning to "love thy neighbor", there's about fifteen who use their religion as a way to oppress others. These people have the basic's, but completely miss the point of religion. They are the extremists: the one's who specifically read "Thou shalt not kill" and hope for the death penalty to be brought back. These are the people who scream about abortion being murder, and then burn down abortion clinics with people still inside. And you know what? I'm fucking tired of sharing a religion with these people.
The biggest slap in the face about these people though is that they, without a hint of irony, prayed for the death of George Micheal. They read that he was recovering from pneumonia and said "after Michael bites the dust, it'll be the perfect time to roll out anti-sodomy laws." THIS! IS! NOT! WHAT! CHRISTIANITY! IS! ABOUT! This is the reason why so many people don't like christianity: because so many of us have such a "higher than the rest of you sinners" attitude, then go DIRECTLY against Jesus' teachings, and wish death on someone. To me, if you can honestly say that there is a person on this earth that you would kill, that you want to die, and even worse, exploit their possible death as a way of spreading your own hateful, ugly propaganda, then you are a murderer. I'll say this now...I still believe in a higher power, a guiding hand that ultimately wants us all to be happy.. I still believe in morals such as "Do not kill", "Do not steal", "Love your neighbor". But I refuse to be associated with people like Keith any more. John Shore, although I know you won't read this, I wish there was more people like you: who actually try to make the world a good place. But there's not. There's to many Keith's in the world, in Christianity, and I just cannot be a part of something like that anymore. Through the West Baptist and the Westboro Baptist Church’s bullshit I've striven to be an example of a christian who is open minded, and supports everyone's rights and belief's that are not based around taking away the rights and belief's of others. I'm tired of it now, and I will not count myself as part of the same religion as these hate mongering, fundamentalist fucktards.
