Personality

Avres is Roan and Jolie's father, and it's obvious who Roan inherited his own demeanor from. Avres is a contagious optimist despite the tribe's history and his own. He loves their final home and hopes that they're finally safe from the greed and hatred of humankind. Having been able to sire and raise two beautiful children has once again instilled a flame of hope that their peace will last for some years to come. However, in his most private moments with his mate, Idelle, he also greatly fears that all they have will suddenly be wrenched away by circumstances beyond their control. For that reason Avres never fully supported Roan's ventures into the lands beyond their home territory, though he understands his son's urges for something more.

Skills

Avres is an accomplished wood carver, and he often talks shop with Kroft about techniques he uses for both practical and artistic purposes. His home is decorated with his achievements: light, sturdy, beautiful, and also useful carvings. It surprises no one that his favorite motif is his own mate.

Burt’s bees makes a lot of good all natural products for sensitive skin! Also, lush cosmetics has some scrubs that I’ve yet to try, but have heard really great things about! I’ve used their tea tree and breath of fresh air toners and they’re awesome.

Thanks Stephanie :) I heard really good stuff about lush too, I want to try their makeup one day. All I've tried from Burt's Bees is the chapstick and it made my lips swell up, so since then I've steered clear. Is it the beeswax/do all of their products have beeswax? Maybe I'm allergic to beeswax

How did you become involved in research as an undergraduate?

The short answer is:

I didn’t. Remember, I hate research.

But I guess you’re really asking how YOU can become involved in undergrad research. And for that I have a slightly longer answer.

1. Find a professor who you like or whose class you did well in. Ask them what kind of research they’re doing and if you can join.

2. Contact your local med school (if there is one) and see if they need summer research assistants.

3. Look through your course catalog at school and see if there are any research options that double for class credit.

4. Call your local hospital (most have a research department) and find out if they’d like a research volunteer.

Scenarios like this are perfect opportunities to employ backhanded remarks you wouldn’t normally use on people you see frequently. Summon your inner switchblade attitude. In addition, props to you for handling living in New York City. I know I couldn’t do it.
