do u guys ever think abt how Arisu, Karube, Chota, and Shibuki all parallel the citizens in some way...
Arisu being similar to Mira in their deep love and devotions to people and the world, even when it hurts, their self-sacrificing and offputing personalities alienating them from the world, but still find comfort in humanity,
Karube similar to Shiirabi bc of their cold exteriors to hide a vulnerable, scared, traumatized, and empathetic person deeply hurt by their experiences with life and the world,
Chota similar to Kyuma in their free spirits created due to past experience and doing literally everything for their friends, even if it means theyll get hurt or reprimanded,
and Shibuki similar to Kuzuryū, passively suicidal as both are unable to determine the worth of their own lives, not to mention the worth of another, and their deaths parallel that final understanding of worthiness.
even their specialties line up (for the most part): Arisu and Mira are hearts players, Karube and Shiirabi are spades, and Chota and Kyuma are clubs... love them
fun fact!! i got diagnosed w bpd bc of aib. i thought i was developing schizophrenia at first but after researching the Why when it came to Niragi specifically, i was like "oh shit" bc we have the same ass symptoms. like no wonder ive felt so personally attacked when people make fun of Niragi's symptoms and how he acts bc of them BC I HAVE THEM TOO😭😭😭 THIS IS SO ANNOYING.
Chishiya and Niragi’s introductions are extremely similar.
Notice how they’re both physically above everyone in the games we see them play; both of them being at the highest point they could possibly be. They’re also talking down to their teammates and/or opponents – Niragi yells at Last Boss for “taking something” away from him, and Chishiya outright says he’s better than his opponent.
Chishiya later says, when Karube and the other players are trying to take down the horse dealer, “They’re idiots if they’re trying to change the rules”; just like Niragi, he’s talking down to his own teammates in this situation.
(Another thing to note is they aren’t on foot with everyone else; while Arisu, Usagi, Karube, and everyone else in the 5♤ are on foot searching for the safe room, Chishiya stays back. While Last Boss, Aguni, and the other militants are on foot attempting to slaughter those animals, Niragi sits back from a distance, much like Chishiya.)
In both cases, they’re putting themselves above everyone else both intellectually and physically. Niragi glazes himself on his gunmanship skills and Chishiya does the exact same thing for his intellectual skills.
But, when Chishiya confronts Niragi on the roof, they’re on an equal playing field. This is the first time we see them, up to that point, putting themselves on the same level as someone else, which reflects what Chishiya said: “You piss me off, it’s like I’m looking at myself.”
They’re equals, they’ve always been equals, and the rooftop confrontation physically reflects their perceptions of one another. In a way, what Yaba said to Enji, “The basis to trust someone is equality," can apply to them as well.
Niragi and Chishiya don’t trust each other, don’t get it twisted, but they also know no one else understands them the way they understand each other. (Which is why laying together, bleeding out is so special to me…like once again, they are equals here. They're sharing their most vulnerable moment TOGETHER.)
IMHO, I think that’s what was missing from the adaptation: that equality between them. In nearly every scene of them together, it’s Chishiya taking the high ground when they are equals, whether the fandom likes it or not😭

Stupid question but do you know where in the manga it's mentioned that Niragi's bullies told him to pierce his tongue because i never caught that and I see people mention it
not stupid at all! unfortunately that is just a headcanon, there are only two Niragi flashbacks and neither involve his bullies telling him to harm himself in that way; however, his "main" bully of sorts had a nose piercing, which is probably why Niragi now wears so many.
i think i straight up saw it in a fanfic a while back which mightve been where the misinfo came from,,,,which is really funny to me bc i ONLY read Niragi/Chishiya fics. slash srs.
