It's just a theory, a game theory!
Or rather less of a theory and more of an alternate universe.
The idea is that Node was created and raised by Orange (who will likely outlive everyone else) but she lost her memories due to an incident which made her go back in time. (Well not really, check the tags and watch AvPhysics.) Thus she, "without" memories and morals, went to fuck around and find out, making everything go down.
