I feel like you've already answered this but, Why don't unicorns live on earth with humans?

oh!!!! okay so I’ve never properly answered this, but i have definitely hinted at it. This will be a bit vague because (once again cry) i’m still figuring out all the deets! Basically there was a moment in time when unicorns and humans were kinda just vibing together, this was waaaaaaay long ago, centauries. Humans would be happy, and unicorns noticed that when they were happy, their magic would be stronger, and eventually figured out human happy = unicorn strong and happy too (and immortal!! nice!!!!) but it wasn’t long until humans figured that out as well... and they did not feel great about being used, and sucked dry of their happiness magic (even though unicorns now know that they don’t actually take humans happiness away or anything like that, the magic is more of a biproduct of humans being happy, using it does nothing to humans at all, in fact unicorns can’t physically do anything to take or give any of this magic, they can just use it, like putty, mold it and shape it for their use, but not actually destroy or add to it. Humans on the other hand can create and destroy this magic easily, just by existing, they don’t do it on purpose, it just happens. (there’s also not just happiness magic, but magic that is expelled for every feeling and emotion, but that’s a paragraph for another ask fjrfjrhf))

(also humans can’t outright do anything with the magic they give off like unicorns can, they can manipulate the way a unicorn may feel or how powerful they may be, but they can’t really control that anyways so even then they can’t really do much w it! humans can’t even tell they’re radiating magic, it’s only noticeable to unicorns and humans that know what they’re looking for)

So, with humans believing that these creatures were taking their happiness and using it for magical spells they did not understand, and oof also becoming immortal and powerful beings, a small group of humans decided to find a way to kill them (how to kill a unicorn still pending <3 but i think answering this ask just gave me a potential idea jejejeeje >:3c) This group would later become a small organization of unicorn hunters that would pass down their traditions to insure the history of unicorns would not be lost so that they could protect their fellow humans. Some humans still liked living in peace with the unicorns, but soon enough, tension boiled and once the hunters found a way to kill the “immortal” parasites they began their plan to eradicate the unicorns. With their numbers growing smaller and smaller each day, the unicorns agreed that they had to leave, but earth just didn’t feel right for them anymore, so, they came up with a plan, and with their combined magic were able to create the pocket dimension all of unicorn society currently lives in! Unicopia. They rebuilt their lives there and although it was difficult at first, once they were able to find a way to properly filter in the happiness magic to their dimension, they genuinely began to thrive! There’s NO way any of them would ever go back on earth now, they’re decades ahead of humans on practically everything, and get to live their perfect hedonistic lives in their cute little pocket dimension. BUT every so often they are gravely reminded that humans are the only reason they’re able to exist and use magic, and they don’t like that reminder very much.. so Happiness Facilities really help lessen that weight by pretty much taking on the whole responsibility of making sure happiness levels are good, humans are happy, and thus, their unicorn citizens are happy too :>
