For some reason my Canadian phone -because surprise I am Canadian. Was in English U.S, why was it like that? I mean, it was probably like that due to it being made there maybe? I just think that is really annoying. Really stupid and annoying. Plus I hate that it's like that.
English U.S can look really silly to me, it's just that sometimes it looks wrong. I mean I've written Canadian English my whole life, so of course it looks "wrong". It is the particular words that use an S instead of a C, or when they only put one L instead of two, and of course when they don't put a U; sometimes I can be okay with not putting a U, but other times it just looks so weird to me.
Examples of words I find weird (American spelling): Defense, Traveled, flavor.
No offence to any Americans reading, none to my American moots. Of course it is going to look a little off to me because I've just grown up with Canadian English.
I mean Canadian English is such a mess. I've met people who use more American spelling compared to British or the other way around. It's not particularly improper to use a more American spelling. It’s not how Canadian English is suppose to be -or so I've been told... But it is so hard to keep track of, and no one really enforces or teaches you which way is "proper". I mean only a few years back I learn that spelling gray was an American thing, and Canadians are supposed to spell it grey. I mean, I did spell it grey, it was my friend who didn't.. that's just something I learned. So yeah, Canadian English is a mess and no one enforces our spelling. We can spell however we like I guess? Though as a kid I was told that British English is more proper? Teachers told me they don't care though.
