Any other wild animal alterhumans feel this way?

I don’t know if anyone else has this feeling but I wanted to share.

I sometimes feel like as a wild animal I am not fully wild. Like I’m a hyena unable to be released into the wild. Like I live in an animal sanctuary or something.

I’m softer than a fully wild animal. I want the affection of the humans who mean the most to me, but I still need my space and have boundaries. I can seem tame in the right circumstances, but it’s because I’ve been raised around humans and have come to see them as my pack.

idk. I just feel like my wildness isn’t the same as other wild animals, even though I’m still very much one.

(I don’t specifically identify as therian, I’m alterhuman specifically, just tagging as therian because I think they might relate too)

New affirming food

If you feel the instinct to gnaw on things and tear into food, may I suggest a new favorite of mine:

DRIED MANGO

Seriously. It's great to tear into. I find myself growling and tugging and gnawing at a piece of it every time I get some.

It's also great for those of us who have carnivore theriotypes/kintypes/etc but are vegetarian or vegan :3

I may be totally the only one who feels this way, but I wanted to talk about it.

I really hate how… destructible our community’s masks are? They’re so beautiful and I love the creativity and love put into them, but I am a major clutz. When I am in my animal headspace I want to romp in the mud, splash in the water, do the things I’m meant to do as an animal. A mask made of paper, plastic, felt, paint, etc just feels so… decorative rather than actually useable to me. I need a mask made of a material that’s washable and not likely to be destroyed by my animal activities.

I don’t know, I would love to own a hyena mask or a mask of the other animals I am. I just can’t justify buying/making something I know won’t last if I act the way I do as an alterhuman.

I can’t stress enough that this is NOT a criticism of mask makers and mask wearers. It’s just my personal opinion and experience.

If you have suggestions for alternatives for me I would love to hear about them!
