Warnings- Mentions of rape in a courthouse but severe peter fluff okkkk
It had been a long few weeks in the Stone household—not necessarily for you but for your husband, Peter. Ever since he started work with the Special Victims Unit, he had been working himself next to death. He had said to you once that this is the kind of job you can’t just put down and pick back up whenever you feel like it. You felt for him. You didn’t know the exact details of the case he was working on for the past few weeks, but you knew it was taking a toll on him.
Being able to work from home meant you could go to the cases Peter was working on. You didn’t make a habit of this, but you definitely showed up when you knew he needed an extra boost of support.
“Has the jury reached a verdict,” you hear from your seat in the back.
“We have, your honor.”
“In the count of rape of a child in the first degree, how do you find?”
“We find the defendant, Alexander Charles, guilty, your honor.”
You could physically see the stress being lifted off your husband’s shoulders as the SVU detectives reached over the railing and patted his back. He turned around to look at you with a slight smile. In that moment, you knew he was exhausted. The court officers arrested the perp and Peter gathered his things before meeting you out in the hallway.
“I’ve got to be honest with you Y/N, I knew we had evidence that supported the case, but I was scared they were going to let the bastard roam free.” You wrapped your arm around his—the same way you did at your wedding three years ago—and held on tight. You didn’t know much about the cases he dealt with on a daily basis, but you knew you just wanted to take him home and help him relax.
The two of you got in the car and Peter began to drive to the apartment the two of you share. When you finally arrived, he kicked off his shoes and slumped down on the couch.
“God, baby, I could sit here for forever,” he mumbled. You looked down at him before sitting on the edge of the couch and placing a hand on the side of his face.
“I’m making dinner for you. Tell me what you want and it’s yours.”
“I don’t feel like eating. I just want you, Y/N.” He grabbed your body and pulled you down against him to inevitably face each other on the couch. He looked at you with so much love that it actually made you tear up. “Just stay here with me for a bit. I need you.” You nodded, lying your head on his chest, hearing his heart beat and shaky breathing. Your arms were wrapped tightly around his core as if you were scared he would disappear if you let go.
“I don’t know what I did to deserve such a kind, beautiful, and perfect woman like you, but I must’ve done something right.”
“Peter, baby, you have it all wrong. I’m the lucky one,” you say, lifting yourself up so you can look into his eyes. “God, baby. I love you so much it hurts. I’m on cloud nine when I’m with you.”
His lips twist up into a smile. He opened his mouth slightly, as if to say something, but he kept quiet. Instead, he grabbed you by the back of your neck and pulled you down to meet his lips with yours. They touched lightly at first then suddenly all at once, moving together intimately. You pulled away after feeling warm drops run down your face. You look to see that not only are you crying, but Peter is as well.
“Damn, Y/N. Look at us, we’re so cheesy.” The two of you laugh before continuing to make out. You loved being there for your husband, even if it was just holding him for a bit. He deserved it. Hell, he deserved everything you could offer him and then some, and you planned on giving him everything you had, forever and ever.
