Before I read your work, Lucy, I had stopped drawing. Not just an artblock or whatever. Like, I literally stopped. I don't know why. For months I didn't draw anything and didn't even want to. No matter what fandom I tried to get into, I couldn't draw anything. I literally thought I was legit done with doing art. Then I read spark a flame, and suddenly I wanted to draw. You basically lit the fire under my ass and helped me rediscover art and how to have fun doing it again. So thank you, for that.

He was my everything

I know how you feel because he was my everything.

No, I will never look at Halloween the same way. When I see yellow eyes and black fur. When I see the silhouette of witches and mediums.

I collect items. They are all over the house. Hidden, but they are there. Anything and everything​ black cat. Because it’s filling a void in my heart. I think “if I ever feel right enough to find another to join my family, will I still collect black cats?”

Of course.

When I sleep I dream of claws and teeth. It’s okay, they belonged to a kitten. He tells me he's​ hungry. Please wake up? Or I’ll bunny kick your head.

No. I will never become someone who sees a black cat and overlook them. The panther of the house and lawn. The intensity of those dark coats and bright eyes. Because he was the worst panther ever.

He was clumsy and noisy. He claimed the couches, but not my bed. He couldn't stand on fences because he would fall off them. He didn't care for cat trees either. But he loved bells and string, and he was scared of mice.

And he loved me. 

I can always tell by the way he ran to me when I came home, even though he had food in his bowl. 

By the way he groomed me (he tried) and reserved his slow blinks for me. 

By the way he put up with me when I gave him unnecessary hugs and forehead kisses.

He tried to hold conversations with me often with many meows, and when I was sick or sad he would be there for me in his own unique way. 

I'm sorry for your loss, I can honestly tell you after years and years you won't forget.

I honestly don't keep track because it always feels like yesterday that he gave me his last lick to my nose. You won’t forget because she was your baby, your heart, not anything but everything.
