Awkward Silences || Rachel & George

Ever since that particular.......event Rachel had taken to listening to music on the small portable cassette player she had bought at a second hand shop in the Muggle streets. Her old one had broken a long time ago, but at least her headset was still intact. Besides she had to distract herself somehow, not to mention she was avoiding talking that much to George since that night. Or was it him who was not speaking with her?

She wasn’t really sure.

Placing the last of the Skiving Snackboxes on their respective shelves, the brunette jumped down from the stool. “Done with the putting away!” She yelled, a little louder then was necessary. But then she was wearing her headset and the volume was rather high and she couldn’t hear what was going on around her. As she walked past the piano, a little skip in her step that matched the beat of the music playing in her ears, she let her fingers trail over the keys, feeling the sudden urge to just sit on the bench and start playing. But not yet, she had work to do.

“George! Is there anything else that needs to be sorted?” She asked, suddenly.
