oh yeah, i totally agree with u on that, and i rly don't like how they advertised it as "the first non-white protagonists". it completely tries to discredit the idea that while they had light skin, the protags from most of the games (kalos included since they were customizable) weren't white, and most were in fact japanese or based off of the japanese. and like u said ya just bc u have light skin it doesn't make u white. not that i dont like the idea of having poc protags w/darker skin

yeah dude we do need more dark-skinned protags of like literally everything. it just would have been a bit better if they’d advertised it as “more diverse” and left it at that, yknow? so yeah. i get u

i'm pretty sure everywhere but unova and kalos were based in japanese-like places. unova was based on new york and kalos was based on france, so ya the majority of pokemon trainers are definitely not white

yeah i know that pokemon isn’t set in our universe but like. i think it’s fairly obvious that pretty much everyone is japanese-coded? this post was talking about some unofficial pokemon rpg that’s in the works and they were like “at last, non-white players!” but it’s like. you don’t need to have dark skin in order to be non-white.

anyway whatever. that rpg looks pretty cool though!

yeah i love madrid and socrates together, they’re so good. i’m doing pretty well!! i’ve got some chores to do today + grocery shopping but aside from that i’m having a Chill Day. one of the pipes under the carpet is leaking so we’ve got a wet patch in one hallway which sucks. but yeah, i’m good!
