Kiss meme! A kiss in joy.
this kiss meme i’m late on
The cultivation world was still new to Lin Ming but she already disliked the sects. Disliked their smugness and superiority complex, how fake they all felt. Not that she spent a lot of time around any of them but Lin Ming was a good judge of character, if a harsh one. She had to be. Certainly those that she came here with wouldn’t be. They gave too many chances when someone wronged them.
Lin Ming tossed a rock in the direction of the building, mouth pulled into an annoyed frown. There was no one to distract her this time, no Wei Wuxian to complain to. All she could do was sit and wait and worry. The worry might be unfounded but this time they had been specifically asked to attend and she didn’t like that.
Too suspicious. She could almost hear Xiao Xingchen’s voice in her head. Her mouth twitched into a smile.
She had begun to pace back and forth by the time people started to leave the building. Stopping, she scanned the crowd, looking for the familiar white and black of Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan. They were among the last to leave, stopped more than once by others and too polite to brush off the conversation.
Once most the people dispersed, she hurried forward, bell at her waist ringing with each step. Both of them smiled; Song Lan once he saw her, Xiao Xingchen when he heard the sound of the bell.
“You didn’t have to wait, Lin Ming,” said Xiao Xingchen, holding a hand out.
She didn’t take it. A look of surprise crossed his face but it was quickly replaced by delight when she threw her arms around him. It might not be dignified or within social standards but she didn’t care. Lin Ming was merely happy to have them back, even if she couldn’t articulate what she believed the danger was. She kissed Xiao Xingchen and he didn’t hesitate to return it.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, laughing slightly. “You’re acting strange.”
It wasn’t like her to be so forward in public, that was him.
“She was worried,” said Song Lan, already leaning down so she could hug his neck, trying to force him to keep her secret with a kiss. The returning hug lifted her slightly off her feet and Song Lan set her down between the two of them.
“Ah.” Xiao Xingchen smiled, taking her arm. “I told you that it would be fine. The sects merely wanted to...”
“Talk at us,” Song Lan finished, mouth quirking. He wasn’t concerned with trying to find a polite way to say it.
Xiao Xingchen laughed.
“Yes. Now do you believe us, Lin Ming?” he asked, tone slightly teasing.
Lin Ming considered it. She took his hand, kissing his knuckles before taking Song Lan’s hand doing the same. Now she believed them, once they were back where she could make certain they were safe.
Now she was happy.
