ilya is finishing an email about an interview when he starts dozing at the kitchen island, slumping in the bar stool. it's only 11 in the morning, but he'd been up most of the night working on different things and then had to be up early. his breathing becomes slow and steady, bordering on snoring as his elbows slide out to the side, his head resting on the counter. exhausted is an understatement.
he barely flinches as shane moves to pick him up, somehow able to do so like he's weightless, and starts carrying him toward the bedroom. he lets go of a sigh as he's put down, the cushioning of the mattress more than welcome. ❝ stop, i need to... ❞ ilya mumbles sleepily into the pillow, eyes already fluttering closed. ❝ shane. ❞ he relaxes all at once, mid-thought when he falls asleep.
