this blog will be solely show-based until i read the books. ilya is a brand new muse to me as of january 2026, so it could be a bit rocky at first while i feel him out.

my writing is typically pretty angst-heavy, but there will be nsfw content on this blog. i would prefer for that not to be the main focus of the blog. also open to a little bit of fluff, slice of life, etc.

common triggers on this blog may include blood/injury/violence, homophobia (from NPCs, i do not condone this obviously!), alcohol/smoking, mentions of mental health issues, parent death/grief. nsfw will be tagged as "usft" and triggers are tagged as "trigger tw"

as stated above, this blog is strictly 18+ only. i also will not write with muses below the age of 18. i will only be writing ilya as young as 18, ranging up until about 30.

non-exclusive, and absolutely fine with roleplaying of multiples!

i would prefer to keep my interactions limited to heated rivalry characters (canon or OC) or potentially other fandoms that may mesh well. i tend not to write with sci-fi based or non-human characters, it's just never been my thing.

PLEASE do not reblog my threads i have going with others. i'm typically extremely chill, but i will block you for this without warning. i would also highly prefer for you not to 'like' threads that you are not a part of, especially if you aren't a mutual of mine.

even after 14 years i still kind of suck at plotting - i'm more of a go with the flow writer. but definitely open to it! most of my threads start by sending memes or open starters, occasionally closed starters when i get inspired or have a regular partner.

remember that roleplay is just for fun! i do not take myself too seriously. i use small text +/- static icons. my responses tend to be a few paragraphs, rarely more or less.

A moment later, Jake's pushing the door of the bathroom open, searching for Ilya. Hand lifts to knock on the door of the cubicle, medical bag slung over his shoulder. "It's me, let me in?"

He waits for the door to open before pushing in and crouching down in front of Ilya. "Did you vomit?"

" once. " even so, his voice is hoarse. his eyes are sunken in, half-lidded, pupils uneven. " i thought was fine. but getting bad fast. " he mumbles, leaning forward to rest his cheek against the seat. normally he'd have to be absolutely plastered to do something like that, but he's so exhausted that he gave up on caring a while ago. " my eyes are... can't seeing straight. like, it's two of everything and fuzzy. "

He should have been prepared for that, that Ilya would want to see, considering that they aren't just meeting for illicit fucks anymore. They get a few precious hours here and there throughout the season, and Shane is injured, and he had been hit in the game before, practically the same spot, so it looks worse than it is. "It looks worse than it is. I took a hit in the last game too." Is what he says when he lifts his shirt, purple bruises lining his side, scattered and dark. "I'll be fine. I got it looked at. It's just bruises."

❝ jesus christ. ❞ ilya mutters as he lifts his shirt, grimacing out of empathy. he knew how much that had to fucking hurt. hopefully he was right and it was just bruises. but seeing it somehow made him feel worse.

❝ looked at by who? fucking hayden?! ❞ ilya argues. he has a hard time believing any doctor or even trainer looked at that and told him he was fine to keep playing and didn't think imaging was warranted. ❝ did you get x-ray? ❞ he knows arguing with shane is useless. he's just as stubborn as ilya, if not more. ilya would let it go eventually. but injuries were something he'd never taken lightly. he was known for being aggressive, for fights, but he never wanted to see anybody get hurt. not unless they deserved it.

Shane's body reacted naturally to the attention, not taking long before he was aching hard and his precum was beading at the head of his cock. "Don't tease me, Ilya," he breathed quietly, his eyes looking down at the man that had settled between his legs. He knows that he'll have to do better than that, but he can pretend that he doesn't know exactly what Ilya wants to hear.

"It's always good to have a back up plan," Shane said with a small snort, trying to breathe normally. Trying to pretend like the panic wasn't starting to build in the pit of his stomach. The pain was definitely secondary at this point, content to not move for a little while. "No hospital. I really don't want to have to explain that I can't decide which hate crime I was the victim of tonight," he said, shaking his head.

ilya frowns at that. it was disgusting, the way people acted. he couldn't blame shane for not loving going out to bars. most of the people there were there to forget something or shove down some kind of pain with alcohol, which just made them more aggressive half the time. they were both hockey players, but ilya was a bit more well trained with his fists. most people knew not to fuck with him. and those who did regretted it.

❝ okay. we'll go back and i'll look at your head. wash your hair. ❞ the closer he looked, he realized he could definitely see bits of glass in his hair. he doesn't bring it up yet. he circles around to the driver's seat and buckles himself in, anxious eyes gazing over at shane. this really wasn't the way he thought this night was going to end. ❝ did you have anything to drink? you are buzzed, or no? ❞ ilya pulls away from his spot, driving a bit more careful than usual with an injured passenger.

the rare times that riley had seen ilya rozanov play - he'd been reminded a little of himself. back when riley had still had a career in hockey , he'd been just as volatile on the ice. ENOUGH SO THAT HE'D EARNED THE NICKNAME 'THE BEAST'. seeing him now at this charity event ; he seemed to have the same calculating look on his face but with an air of discomfort. riley knew that feeling.

this had been one of the rare times that riley had spoken at one of these events ( he definitely doesn't enjoy it ) & right now , he's gulping down a glass of orange juice and trying not to wish it was something else. "you look uncomfortable." his gaze finds rozanov , careful not to push too deep. he didn't seem like the kind who wanted to talk about how he was feeling ( ironically , that had been the point of riley's speech , that hockey wasn't a safe space emotionally ). ilya had never been a huge fan of events like these. he grew up attending a lot of galas. it was different. growing up, he was always told to be quiet. don't speak unless spoken to. now everyone expected him to be social. mingle with everyone. the fans, the sponsors, other coaches, other players. he's backed himself into a corner at this point, nursing a glass of wine. his face contorts with every sip. wine was probably his least favorite beverage. it was too sweet and too bitter at the same time. but it was the only alcohol they had, and he needed it. so he made do.

riley wasn't wrong. he was uncomfortable. his only teammates that were here were tied up, and he didn't really know anybody else. one would think after years of being forced into interviews and the occasional brand deal, he'd be used to it. but it wasn't the case. ❝ mm. wow. is very kind of you to say. ❞ ilya mumbles at the first remark. yes, he was uncomfortable, but he didn't want anybody to NOTICE. ❝ yeah. i've gone to a lot of these events my whole life, i still hate them. i like the charity sometimes. the donations. the causes are nice. but it still feels... i don't know. awkward. is too much pressure. ❞

Svetlana doesn't get sick very often, if at all, but she thinks she must've caught something from either the plane or the airport. After all, the flight from Moscow to Boston isn't direct and takes so fucking long, it's more likely than not that that's where it's come from. Plus the stress from moving on top of everything else. It's not ideal, but it was so very sweet of Ilya to come over to try and help.

She lays there curled up under her comforter, shivering a little, trying to sweat out the fever. Svetlana coughs a few times and winces, making a face. Her hand rests on her chest, blinking when Ilya makes his way into her bedroom.

"Ilyushka, you're going to get sick," she protests, but he wordlessly holds the glass in his hand up to her mouth. Svetlana sighs and laughs a little, taking it from him and gulping the water down. She didn't realize how dehydrated she was. "..Thank you. I really appreciate you being here."

ilya is honestly thrilled that svetlana was finally able to make the permanent move to the states. russia meant a lot to both of them, but there was a lot of pain there. living in the states was far from perfect, but it was better than moscow. safer.

their plans had originally been quite different, but being on 2 crowded flights over the course of 16 hours had its disadvantages. ilya almost always got sick when he flew commercial. so he isn't surprised when he gets the text from svetlana.

he comes over anyway. doesn't even think twice about it. the house is still a mess of half-unpacked boxes, cleaning supplies, medicine. ilya unpacks a few of the kitchen boxes for her and washes some of them up, bringing her a glass of water.

❝ i don't care about that. ❞ he reassures her, holding the glass to her lips. after everything she had done for him, this was literally the least he could do. ❝ have you taken anything for fever? you sound terrible. ❞
