RTN flower shop AU thing again
For the third time that day Hyuuga Hinata grit her teeth and grabbed the dustpan. Another flowerpot fell off the shelf and broke, another flower to stick in the dirt behind the shop, another reason why Uchiha Sasuke was unfit for the post.
He liked to think of himself as a charming fellow, but he was the farthest from one. Yeah, sure, he had a great mission record (two S-class!) and his face was popular with the girls, but his hand was the exact opposite of green.
Hinata glanced out the window at the sole reason she continued to come to work everyday; the sweet, bright Menma who works across the street. Now that's a man worth working for!
Too bad it was his family's drugstore, they rarely needed part-timers so the only spot she could get that's closest was Yamanaka's flower shop.
And now she had to deal with this nuisance everyday...
Once the broken clay settled at the bottom of the bin, the boy who smelled like a fragrance shop presented her with a beautiful red rose and a hand on his chest. "Sorry to make you take care of that, babe. I had to go bandage the cut i got on my finger."
Hinata had to convince herself that dustpans were not manufactured to tolerate being swung onto someone's face. "Don't call me babe."
The young man's smile only stretched father, he flicked his bangs off his nose and pushed the rose further into her face. "You say that, but I know you actually like me! That day you finally showed me your true self, I fell hard and fast!"
With a huff, Hinata plucked the rose from his hand and stuck it back in the 2Ryo-a-rose bucket by the window. "Look, I didn't want to cause trouble to Ino so I thought i'd shut up about it, but that is it!" Her voice rose with every syllable, the Uchiha's smile fell bit by bit as she towered over him to drive her point across. "That was a jutsu, alright?! That wasn't me! It was Ino taking over me to get you as far away from Sakura as possible, alright? I'm not the softie gaagaa girl you think i am, that sweet secret side of me you fell in love with doesn't exist!"
Sasuke stared at her long and hard, a face he'd never once shown her before. "Huh...?"
"That's how it is. Now leave me the hell alone!" Hinata turned on her heel and busied herself behind the register to rearrange wrapping paper rolls under the counter, glad the boy was giving her some space now that the misunderstanding was cleared.
It was both a mystery and a relief when the afternoon swarm of customers came and went without a hitch, in fact, Uchiha was surprisingly helpful and he actually put the apron on this time.
It was near closing time when Hinata realized what had happened; Ino had returned to the shop after a lengthy delivery to a funeral service and was taken to the side for a chat with Sasuke. They kept glancing her way, Ino blushed furiously with every word and stuttered twice when telling him it was in fact her who had taken him aside that afternoon.
The next few days were a blessing and a curse. Hinata could finally come and go to her part time job without being pestered, without cleaning up pots and destroyed vegetation, she could stare out the window at Menma all day and not get interrupted.
But also... Also... She found herself looking away from the glass to the other part-timer who smiled and chatted with Ino at the register, secretly wondering why he looked irresistibly handsome smiling at somebody else.
