Four situations I want to rp. My three favorite ships for Demyx
Come back to me
In commemoration of 9/8.
Demyx knew he could get in trouble for skipping out on his mission. But hell, it wasn't as though he hadn't done it before. He still couldn't believe Roxas and Axel both left. He was bummed about the first, torn about the second. The way things were looking, the red head was facing being erased. Roxas was safe and sound inside Sora he guessed, but Axel didn't have that same protection. What had he been thinking leaving like that? The Nocturne entered the world of Twilight Town. He'd only ever been there a few times outside of missions. It was an alright place, but not much happened there. Axel, on the other hand, always came to this place. Whether or not the others were aware of this, he could only guess. He wasn't sure if the red head would risk being here, but he figured it was as good a place as any to start.
Axel had been sitting atop the Clock Tower, hoping that Roxas might have shown up. It had been almost a week since the blonde had left and he was worried about the other, he just hoped that he'd be safe until Axel found him. The redhead had to admit he felt a bit guilty; he just took off, without saying a word to anyone. He wasn't sure if anyone would care, he knew that Demyx would. But the Nocturne would survive without him for a while. He looked down at the scene below him, watching people walk around and going about their day, until he saw a familiar black coat. He couldn't tell who it was from right now, but all he saw was blonde and decided to go down and see who it was.
Making his way down from the Clock Tower he'd now recognized the blonde as Demyx. But he couldn't work out why he was here. Coming out from the shadows he went into the view of the other. "Demyx? What are you doing here?"
The blonde had walked towards the place he knew the red head enjoyed going to. The clock tower. He'd only been there once or twice with the red head. He really wasn't a fan of heights, but even he had to admit it had an amazing view of the sunset. Before he could make it up there, however, he heard the voice of the one he was looking for. The suddenness of it made him jump and spin around in surprise. "Axel!"
He rushed forward, tackling the taller Nobody in a tight hug. "Thank goodness! I thought I was never going to see you again!"
Axel had to admit he was extremely surprised to see the blonde here, maybe even a little happy. But this wasn't the time for this, he had to find Roxas. He half-heartedly hugged the other back before lightly pushing him away. "What are you doing here?"
"Looking for you, duh!" The blonde lightly smacked his head to emphasize his statement. "I came to bring you back. Look, I'm sure if we talk it over with the big wigs, they'll cool off and you can be with us again." Demyx took a hold of the other's hand, giving it a light tug. "Come on, let's head back, yeah?"
Axel frowned and shook his head, pulling his hand out of the blonde's grip. "I'm going back there, Demyx." He replied, stepping back a few paces. "I have to find Roxas. I'm not going anywhere without him."
Demyx's happy expression slipped a little. "What are you saying?" He took a step towards the red head, trying to close the distance he could feel building. "Come on, man. We can still get him back later. But you need to come back now." Otherwise the chance he'd be erased would only get higher, and Demyx didn't want that.
He moved away from The Nocturne once more. He knew what he was saying would hurt Demyx, but he had a reason for everything he did. The blonde would thank him for this later. "No Demyx. I'm not going back. Now go, before they realize that you've been talking to me."
The red head's retreat caused a tightness to occur in the Nocturne's chest and he could feel his breathing starting to become uncomfortable. His smiled slipped off his face to be replaced with a pained scowl. "Why not?" His voice rose a little. "Why won't you come back? Now that Roxas is gone, suddenly nothing else matters anymore?"
"...I have to find him." He replied, trying to ignore the pain in his chest as he spoke to the blonde. "He's out there somewhere, confused and alone. I have to find him Demyx." He said, refusing to meet the other's eye. He knew he'd see an upset Demyx if he did, and he wasn't sure he'd be able to handle that. "I'll be back before you know it."
"We already know where he is," Demyx spouted, desperate to keep Axel from leaving. "He's inside some guy named Sora, or whatever. I don't know how it happened but... he's not a Nobody anymore. So you see? You don't have to worry about him. He's better off than us."
Axel raised an eyebrow. "How do I know you're not just saying that to get me to go back, Demyx? I'm going to find him, so just... Go back to the Castle ok?" He didn't, no wouldn't believe the other's words. That was impossible, it just couldn't be true.
Blue eyes widened the uncomfortable tightness in his chest continued to grow. Not only that, but his stomach was tying up in knots. He wondered if he was getting sick. His hand clenched at his side. "No..." He said, his voice losing all of its cheer. "I'm not letting you leave. I'll take you back by force if I have to."
Axel shook his head; the pain in his chest became worse though he tried to ignore it. He finally looked at the blonde, and all he saw was a pained man. "Demyx please. Just go back to the Castle." He pleaded. "We both know that you're not going to fight me, Demyx. And I'm not going back there, not if I can stop it. You're wasting your time."
Demyx took several deep breaths through his nose, but it didn't seem to help the upset going on inside of him. Water began to bubble up around him. "Then you obviously didn't know me as well as you thought." He held out his hand and Arpeggio materialized in his grip. "I'm going to take you back, and then things can go back to the way they used to be," he declared, though his voice cracked towards the end.
He stepped back in shock as he stared at the younger Nobody. Seeing the determination in his eyes, Axel wasn't even sure if he'd win this fight. He was exhausted beyond belief. He gave the blonde a pained expression. "Don't make me do this Demyx. . . I don't want to fight you."
Demyx gripped the instrument so hard his fingers were hurting. "I... I don't wanna fight either, but... I can't... I can't just let you walk away." If anyone else found him, he might never ever make it back to the Organization in one piece. "Axel... just come back. Please."
Axel sighed. "You know I can't. Not until I find Roxas."
The water user drew in a shaky breath. "Fine. I get it.... he's more important." He released a short laugh, devoid of any cheer. "But I'm not gonna let you destroy yourself for him. Dance, water, dance."
Axel jumped back and summoned his Eternal Flames, twisting one in his right hand. He was surrounded by Demyx's water clones; he ran forward throwing a Chakram, destroying a few. "You know that's not true Demyx! He's my friend. I can't just let him do something like this!"
Demyx's fingers danced over the strings, creating a bitter sweet melody that reflected the storm of conflict inside of him. "Yeah? Well you're my..." He trailed off. What was Axel to Demyx? Why was he going this far? When he thought about it, normally he wouldn't be willing to put forth so much effort. Unable to finish his first sentence, he instead started another. "What makes you think I can let YOU do something like this?"
The redhead could hear the melody as he fought the water clones. Was this how Demyx felt? The melody was almost too much for him to listen to, he knew he was part of the reason the blonde was acting like this. "Because this is something I HAVE to do! And you won't let me!" He exclaimed taking another swing and destroying the last water clone. He stood there, a few meters away from the blonde as he tried to catch his breath. "I can take care of myself. You have to let me do this." He stated, his weapons ready to attack if he needed to.
Demyx flinched away, seeing the last of his clones evaporated by the red head's flames. The two were opposing elements. Both were weak against the other. But Axel was the better fighter. He always had been. The hold on his weapon loosened. "At least... take me with you."
Axel shook his head. "And risk you getting hurt? No way, Demyx. I'm not letting that happen."
His head drooped and the weapon disappeared from his hands. "Then... what am I supposed to do?"
Seeing it was safer now he let his weapons disappear and walked over to the blonde. "You're supposed to go back to the castle, do missions and play on your sitar and wait for me to get back. And stay. Out. Of. Trouble."
The number nine swallowed and slowly nodded, but found it suddenly difficult to look at the red head. He didn't want to see him leave, because then he might just go chasing after him again. "It hurts..."
He sighed and hugged the blonde tightly, not wanting the other to know that this might be the last time they saw each other. "I know. But I'll be back before ya know it." He mumbled, tightening his hold on the other, afraid that if he let go, Demyx would disappear forever.
Demyx buried his face in the other's cloak, taking in the smell of wood smoke and cinnamon. As always, Axel's body was warm, almost too warm for comfort. But the blonde would have done anything in that moment to be able to stay in it forever. He felt something wet flowing down his cheek, though he didn't know what it was.
Axel could hear little sniffles coming from the blonde. "Demyx. . . Are you, crying?" He asked in a concerned tone. He wasn't even aware that Nobody's could cry.
Demyx Nocturne: "N-No!" The blonde said on reflex. "I've been catching a cold, that's all." He didn't really understand it himself. Maybe it was because it hurt so much, and that was why. If he had no heart, and if he really couldn't feel, then why did it hurt so much?
"Don't lie to me Demyx." He said softly, pulling away slightly to wipe tears from the blonde's face. He kissed his forehead before lightly pulling himself out of the other's grip. He knew that if he stayed any longer, then he might not want to find Roxas, god knows how tempted he was to stay with Demyx right now. "I should go."
The younger Nobody bit his lip and nodded, resisting the urge to keep hold of the Flurry. "Good luck," he muttered. "Be safe."
Axel sighed heavily before taking the other's face in his hands. "I love you, I won't be too long." He mumbled before kissing the blonde.
Demyx kissed the other back, not wanting to waste the moment. Axel pulled away first, because Demyx wasn't strong enough to. "I love you too, Ax," he whispered. "So don't disappear before I do."
He knew he should let go, but he just wasn't ready to yet. "Neither of us is going to disappear." He replied, knowing full well that if the Organization found him again, that he'd be erased faster than he could utter a word.
Demyx knew the red head was just saying stuff to make him feel better. That's just how the guy was. He wasn't going to argue the point. He'd rather just believe everything the red head was saying would come true. "I'll be waiting."
He nodded, stepping back to summon a dark corridor. He cast the other one last look before walking through, closing the corridor behind him.
Well, it's 8/9, so Happy AxDem Day everyone!
