Been a hot minute since I drew Axis, been thinking about them a lot lately..

Also mildly redesigned him

I made an AU where Kanako successfully bonds with the Integrity serum and takes the soul; it's a post-genocide AU where she has to raise herself into an adult without friends or family, her only company is the robots she creates following in her dad's footsteps.

She resolves to eventually escape the underground somehow and enact vengeance upon Clover(/you) for killing her mom and everyone else she knew. Her photon saber, the Azure Blade, was made for the sole purpose of fighting Clover, and it resonates with her human soul to inflict increasing Karma damage depending on how much higher than 1 the enemy's LV is, similarly to Sans.

And this is the final form of Axis, as designed by this version of Kanako; he was made in a kitsune's image so that Axis (now Kanako's only friend) could be a real Ketsukane (and thus her only remaining family too).

Axis' treatment in not only the fandom but also the story makes me so sick, people don't understand how gutwrenching it is to have your favourite character be shunned and forgotten by the characters, story and fanbase

Axis deserved so much better, he's the reason why the story happens and yet people neglect him because they see him as nothing but comedic relief

Wanted to draw my interpretation of Dalv! I'll slowly draw the rest of the cast. I have pretty solid ideas in my head, I just sometimes get nervous drawing for a new fandom sometimes.

I wanted to add more lightning motifs in his design, particularly the hair streak! And ofc more bat/vampire like traits. I also wanted to add a little charm that referenced his relationship with Kanako. I like to imagine she gave him a spare of her bell ribbon. When his hair is longer, he ties it up with her ribbon!

Also a doodle I did of him and Axis bc I hc them to be friends in my au/version. The drawing is intended to be platonic!! My Axis is just very, very touch starved and doesn't know how to react to affection - it makes him embarrassed and heat up from the positive feelings.

Axis barely leaves the Steamworks, but he sometimes visits Dalv in Snowdin and stays with Ceroba after she officially became his mother.

My version of Axis in my aus! I actually did this before my Dalv, that's why they have different presentation styles. I really wanted to give him some sort of Steamworks uniform, blending elements from security guard & mechanic uniforms.

And added some general accent colours & details to make him more distinct from canon! The glowing streaks are based off @/axis014s' art!! I love their interpretation of him a lot.

In the human au, I imagine him to have the perseverance trait! And he's Ceroba & Chujin's biological child. Taking more after my Chujin than Ceroba, although he does have some traits from his mother. (I imagine him to be in his mid to late 20s, he's programmed to be around that age in his robot versions)
