I'm so impressed that everyone can be civil and jovial to one another. Adults!
You know, I was just talking with someone else here about this. The whole point is for everyone to be jovial. Poly is about bringing more love and happiness into your life, more support, more togetherness, more of all the good stuff. If the guys didn't get along, Zesty would probably have to get the axe.
I was just reading a very good book about poly, called The Polyamorists Next Door. It said that one of the advantages of the poly lifestyle is the way it offers a fairly unique avenue for men to form close, nonsexual, intimate connections with each other. I can see that happening here in my life. Zesty, with his hyper-masculine biker lifestyle, seems slightly starved for safe places to express himself as a human being, and to feel completely accepted in his own wholeness. And Sasquatch, coming from a nerdier and much more Jewish sort of background, offers a model of dominant masculinity which is far different from Zesty's flavor, much more expressive, much more emotionally open. I can see how they stimulate each other and it's fascinating.
Each of them clearly wants more of what the other guy has. Sasquatch is closely observing Zesty, wondering if he could ever be as successful in the pussy-hound department. And Zesty seems to have been galvanized by the sight of Sasquatch's well-organized domestic life, with a pliant, supportive wife and a hot, crazy girlfriend all tidily installed in a clean home that always smells like good food cooking. (Yes I am bragging a bit. So what.) He's the king of pulling chicks, but I don't think it ever really dawned on him that he could have it all, until he saw up close that in fact, Sasquatch really does have it all. I gotta write more about this last point, but I see I'm already running on. More on this in a bit.
