i rarely post stories here, but i was (still am) exploding with SO much happiness over gaku that i just needed to this time around

GOD. GOOOOOD...!!!!!!!! his birthday stories never miss—all his stories in general tbh—and that just got proved further in the 2024 ver of it with how the writers have once again did a great job emphasizing gaku's inherent softness and laaarge capacity to love to such an extent.... 🥹🫶🩷 it's not news to me, definitely, but it's still such a delight to see... i feel like he's just getting sweeter and sweeter the more years pass by :(

i won't fully go into the story detail per detail as that'd make this longer than it needs to be (by itself it's not really that long, it's just that i am a person who rambles a lot when it concerns this man HAJAGWJHS) but it's basically centered on one thing; cosmos flowers. at the beginning of the story, you spot a sole cosmos displayed in the shrine. although pretty, you wonder why gaku has such a thing when he isn't the type to buy flowers "just because," and though you question him, he brushes it off with an odd hint of embarrassment. as events unfold and his birthday also arrives, the bad weather during it inspires you to use divine arts to create a grand illusion, transporting the both of you to a beautiful field of cosmos.

that's essentially the gist of the story !!! i'd just like to mention however an important detail also (I SAID I WASN'T GONNA GO INTO IT BUT I WARNED YOU I TALK A LOT </////3) that the sole cosmos flower in the beginning of the story was actually an ayakashi! a little girl too, at that. she was the one who aided you both into the illusionary field of cosmos 🥹🩷 i wanted to mention her because it's an important part in the story that led to that iconic scene of gaku blushing in the above pic ⬆️ AAAAAA....

so, funnily enough, gaku didn't actually know that the cosmos was "conscious" when he first bought it. this resulted in him being visibly nervous after it gets brought up, asking you "What else did she tell you?" after you tell him that it was the little girl who helped bring you into the flower field, heavily implying that he must've talked to the cosmos about something before. (yes, gaku has a tendency to talk to objects. i find it suuuuuper cute) something quite embarrassing maybe—i guessed that it was perhaps something sappy, considering his previous stories like his 5th anniversary one where he just fiddles with the pinwheel he got from you, talking about how he finds it cute and such LMAOO

after a series of misunderstandings, gaku finally DOES admit that the reason for his earlier embarrassment when the cosmos was first brought up was because he didn't want to admit that the only reason why he bought it in the first place was because it reminded him of you. 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷 that's why he got a bit nervous when he found out that the cosmos was actually an ayakashi; he thought that she told you about what he had told her when she was just a flower.... 🥹🥹🥹🩷🩷🩷🩷

AAAAAAA isn't there just something so incredibly adorable about seeing the always composed and serious gaku be so flustered over something like this.....?!??!!?!? he always gets so worked up about situations that would affect his pride, really 🥹🩷 seeing him like this just makes you INSTANTLY understand why yura dotes on him a lot and why i love him as much as i do

THEN THIS LINE. THIS. LINE. THIS LINE.........!!!!!!!

OHHHMYGOSH my hands were already shaking prior to this line but when i got to it, my entire body just felt like giving up 💀 HE'S JUST SO SWEET I CAN'T BELIEVE IT SOMETIMES KWHWJAUAHWJSHWHWHEE such a romantic line...... it astounds me how much genuine love he has for you 🥹🩷

the rest of the story is just physical affection galore, much to my misery ;;;;; from forehead kisses, eyelid kisses, cheek kisses and actual kisses on the lips, you name it.... then the hugging... oh the hugging... but the kisses were undeniably more prominent, it even ended with him selfishly asking to kiss you for a bit longer AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

overall, i think i just fell in love with gaku again. thank you very much ...!!! not a day goes by where i don't melt in agony over him..... it comforts me a thousand times knowing that his love is the same too 🥹🩷🌸 AAAAAA I JUST REALLY LOVE HIM MAN I'M STILL RECOVERING FROM HIS STORY--TO THIS MINUTE I'M STILL SUFFERING FROM A RAPID HEART RATE THANKS TO HIM
