what’s so good to me is that you can “leaves” the house. navidson could have up and left at any point. Karen took the kids. The explorers could have given up after the first exploration, or before then. Johnny could have put down the manuscript. there’s nothing metaphysical stopping any of them. the doors did not lock, the hallway did not creep closer.
