I AM HERE FOR THIS!I was thinking about Matt carrying Dan on his shoulders and one thing led to another…
On one particular late-summer day, all the upperclassmen had agreed on a way to combat the heat. With the monsters down in Columbia for the weekend, the remaining Foxes got together and headed to the university’s pool during open hours. They had arrived early enough that not many other students were there, so there was a whole area of the pool void of living beings.
Matt and Seth raced down and jumped in the deep end, splashing Dan and Renee while Allison just stood cautiously behind them, using the other two girls as meat shields.
“That’s not fair,” Dan shook her arms free of droplets as the two boys argued over who had touched the water first.
“Relax, Dan, it’s just water,” Allison grinned, pretending to look at her nails. Renee leaned at the end of the pool, stating that both of them had landed at the same time.
Dan raised an eyebrow in amusement, “Just water, huh? Then I guess you won’t mind… getting a little wet!” She pushed the blonde into the pool.
With the shock of the push, Allison grabbed unto Dan’s arm, pulling her down with her into the deep end.
Allison came up for air a few seconds later, kicking her feet to keep herself afloat. “You’re gonna PAY, Wilds!”
Dan spit out some water that had gotten into her mouth over the edge of the pool, “Is that a threat?”
“AW Yeah! Fight!” Seth came up behind Allison and dropped below the surface, coming up beneath her so when he stood she was sitting n his shoulders.
Dan looked over at Matt, who immediately came to her aid and pulled their exy captain on his shoulders. “You’re on, Reynolds,” she pretended to roll up her nonexistent sleeves. “You better start placing bets, Renee.”
The goalkeeper watched their stance closely, kicking her feet in the cool water while she at on the edge. “Dan and Matt.”
“Fuck no!” Seth yelled, glaring at Matt. “We’ll show you!”
“Get ‘em, Dan!” Matt cheered his girl on, who almost immediately lunged at Allison.
Allison caught Dan’s hands with her own, pushing on them with all the force she could muster. The captain was strong, but Allison put up a good fight. Their boyfriends cheered them on as they fought it out while Renee watched with clear eyes and an amused expression.
Dan gave a final shove when Allison least expecting it, pushing her off of Seth’s shoulders and into the water.
“You bitch! You almost had her!” Seth yelled at where he thought Allison would be.
Not a moment later, Matt fell backwards, throwing both himself and Dan into the water with a surprised yelp.
Allison came back up for air next to the location that Matt was at, “You were saying?”
Seth’s angry expression turned into a violent grin, “That’s my girl!”
Allison placed her hands on her hips with a prideful expression, waiting for their captain and back liner to rise from the depths.
When they did, Renee just smiled. “Technically, Dan still won.”
