On a recent interview for Ayr Sam and Graham were talking. Towards the end G says personally I would not follow him anywhere but there are other people who would his names remain nameless. It is on Twitter from the last few days. Did I imagine this or does anyone else hear it?
Thanks for your ask Anon!
The video you are referring to can be found HERE.
The context for Graham's comment was actually quite interesting, as it has to do with the Outlander fandom. At the beginning of the video, the interviewer Janice Forsyth talks to Sam about the superfans he mentions in the book who have popped up someplace to see him. She then says to Graham, at about 0′52″ into the video:
JANICE FORSYTH: “Yeah, it is incredible though Graham, isn’t it? The power of drama, the power of television drama. And people will--we know it from soap operas and everything else--people can actually really believe that you are those characters, apart from anything else.”
GRAHAM: "Absolutely. You know, I remember that feeling myself. I mean, I think whenever you enter into that contract with storytellers, whether it’s in a book or a play or on television, that interesting suspension that you give yourself of disbelief where you say, ‘Hey, I’m gonna, I’m gonna totally invest in you as a real person. You are uh Jamie Fraser. You are a highlander living in the 18th century.’ And um--”
SAM: “Well I am.”
GRAHAM: “Even though our rational mind can say, ‘No, no, that’s, you know, obviously this is an actor.’ Our own imagination allows us to completely inhabit that world with the characters. And that's the power of drama. And I think it's great. And really, I've always seen it as a testimony to a job well done if um if people really believe so strongly in something.”
Now, the part that you were asking about Anon, happens at about 1′59″ into the video:
GRAHAM: "And it’s uh, I mean, I do it myself. I wouldn't personally follow Sam uh somewhere, personally. But um you know there are plenty of other people I would probably follow. Yes. Whose names will remain nameless."
So Graham seems to be saying that it is understandable that fans suspend disbelief to enter into the world that writers and actors have created. He further says that he has let himself delve into a fictional world. And he suggests he might follow some unnamed people (probably actors or writers) who have sparked his imagination.
