thanks for asking!!
☯ : what do you love about your language?
I speak Turkish and one of the things I like is how even it sounds, kinda like Japanese. There have actually been a few times when I’ve heard it not paying attention and mistaken it for Japanese, although I’ve heard people say it sounds similar to Hungarian as well. I also like how every single vowel is pronounced which makes for easy spelling, unlike English.
☪ : what do you hate about your language?
The swear words are pretty nasty tbh.
✓ : funniest word in your language
I’d say my faves are:
şıpıdık
aka flip-flop. See also: şıpıdık şıpıdık yürümek — the slapping sound of bare feet on a floor, or the slapping sound of flip flops while walking.
incik boncuk or ıvır zıvır
trinkets / baubles
fıttırmak
to go crazy
zıkkım
“poison”
See also: zıkkımın kökünü ye. My mom’s go-to phrase when she’s pissed lmao.
“Eat poison and die,” essentially.
şenlik
not really funny but I like how it sounds
“festivity”
şan şöhret
two different words but often used together
“fame and prestige”
