Hi! Is it okay to req Baal and Aym with a really wobbly reader? (Ex: they have to lean against stuff a good bit of time to make sure they don't tip over and trip :'))
Idk if I requested right- sorry if I didn't! It's my first time requesting in general^^
-Belph
Baal and Aym x wobbly!reader
OOOOUUUUGH I felt this-- yesterday (at the time of writing this) was particularly bad-- knocked into my desk and knocked over my bottle of liquid sulfur (plant stuff) and it got. Everywhere. Like slow drip and I didn't notice until way later (everything is fine though!!)
Notes: reader is gn, short post, unspecified reason for the unsteadiness, post game
CWs: none
AYM
Doesn't understand why you do that... are you okay? He thinks you got your ass beat often when he first met you :( his mind is oftentimes on fighting... can you blame him? He's got a lot of pent up energy!
Would and has grabbed you by the back of your clothes and tugged you to his side to be your support. Plus it gives him an excuse to hold you...! He's still a little awkward with affection- doesn't know what to do... definitely not scared to ask for it though
Eyes are laser focused on you everytime you stand up and so much as hesitate for a split second... and he's at your heel when you're around stairs. Doesn't matter if it's only a few steps. He's not taking the chance
BAAL
Unlike his brother he actually tries to find answers and a proper solution... though I am unsure how far along medical stuff is in COTL universe... but regardless he won't rest until there's something! Hell he'll even go to his masters brother for guidance! ...what do you mean he only dealt in plagues...? Surely he has an idea on what's going on-
More than happy taking up some of your work around the cult, if you're a member of the lambs flock. He often comes to visit to help take that load off your shoulders... or better yet he tries to convince the lamb to let you come back home with him for better care
If it's diet or hydration based he's going to be on your ass about eating properly and drinking enough. If it's caused by over exertion you won't be able to even get up to turn a light off without him beating you to it. If it's something else entirely? He's going to make sure your needs are accommodated
Since I personally don't see enough Aym/Baal content, how about Aym and Baal x reader (separate)? Where the reader, who is a lamb, gets sacrificed and is basically the lamb in the game. But every time the reader appears in Narinder's realm after perishing, they're constantly flirting with him. They consistently compliment everything about him and are just.. practically obsessed with him (not in a weird way).
Oh yeah! We gotta give them more love tbh (also I'm not 100% sure if you meant flirting with Narinder or the brothers, but I'll assume the brothers)
.....
Aym
At first he thinks you're incompetent as a vessel, given the number of times you've perished to something stupid and ended up in Narinder's realm...
And then he realizes you're literally dying to see him (which is no exaggeration), but he's just confused and irritated by your attitude, thinking you're taking full advantage of his master's power.
He doesn't see why you wanna talk to him.
"You know, I love the broody types..not many of us lambs were ever broody-"
"You think serving our master is a joke to you?" He sneers quietly. "The prophecy is to be fulfilled by you. I suggest you act like it. Master, will you send them away-"
"It is not your place to order me around, Aym." Narinder warned. "For I am quite amused by these interactions...I've never seen you become so..flustered." He snickers
At this point, Aym realizes he has no choice but to accept his fate just for his master's amusement-
He is, however, a little flattered when one day you gift him a bracelet made from the bones of your enemies.
It stuns him into silence, only snapping at Baal after you leave and he teases him over it.
Anytime you ask about it thereon, he'll claim that he got rid of it..
But you see it on his wrist, hiding underneath his sleeve.
Even after reuniting him with his mother, she learns of the gift and fawns over how "cute" you two are (with Aym rolling his eyes and trying not to blush).
Baal
While Baal showed concern that you weren't the right fit for being the prophesized liberator, he wasn't as condescending as his brother.
Every time you died, he got to see what fresh new injury killed you, and he wondered why you'd put yourself through this suffering.
Then he realizes you're just trying to revisit his master's realm to flirt with him.
He gets tongue-tied, unsure of how to respond to your compliments, trying to hide his blush behind his staff or clench his jaw so he doesn't smile.
But as much as he appreciates your kindness, he worries for your health despite death being of little consequence to you.
"Doesn't it hurt your cult every time you die in a crusade? Doesn't it hurt...you?"
"Baal, the only thing that hurts is that I can't marry you.." You pout, offering him a camelia flower bouquet. "My followers throw their hearts at me every day...but I feel nothing for them. I've rejected dozens of proposals, because one day I want you to be-"
"So this is why my cult's faith is so low...go back and kill Heket. This is no time for marriage vows." Narinder scorns, sending you away immediately.
When you resurrect Baal, however, you married him on the spot (with Forneus' blessing of course).
Ngl, he's happy and always hoped this day would come. He couldn't say anything before but he can now.
Flufftober Day 22: Watching the Sunset w/ Baal and Aym
you know. im writing these fluff fics all out of order- knocking out the prompts i like first then getting to the harder ones later. its january 9th as i write this and im already two fics down (three including this one) and i... know i will regret doing both flufftober and kinktober BUT for now i will use this huge spike of energy to get as much done as possible before i eventually crash
plot: you show baal and aym their first sunset
notes: reader is gn any creature, post game, these two are still adjusting to the living world, bare with admin because they usually dont write fics focusing on more than two characters, totally not using the fact aym in my current save keeps throwing hands with everyone as inspo, not romantic you guys just kind of bond
word count: 2.6k
cws: blood mention- literally just a nose bleed but yk i like to play it safe
If you had been told months ago that watching a sacrifice would treat you to watching your soon to be deceased friend be replaced by a stranger in a horrific display of twisting flesh and bones snapping back into place… you would have awkwardly looked at whoever shared that vision.
Yet here you are, having witnessed that twice. A part of you still wonders what became of your two friends… were their bodies used as a resource to make the new figures, or…?
You were hardly given the chance to adjust the first time when the second sacrifice took place only a few days after the first.
Two cats, so unlike any of the other felines in the flock… but not unlike the newcomer that kept to his distance from the rest.
Nearly identical, now that you had set time aside in an attempt to get to know the new pair. You would come to know them as Baal and Aym. Brothers, from what you’ve gathered.
And despite possessing knowledge in everything regarding combat… they seemed stumped in every other facet of life.
Several times you had seen the pair stop in their tracks when their paws sank into a puddle of cold water- before immediately retracting with a hiss. Or how Aym had once tried to fight a cicada that had flown far too close to him, the noise it made putting him on edge in an instant. Baal on the other hand… was more interested in the vibrancy that the flowers decorating the camp held… mostly red, but there were a few other colors scattered throughout here and there.
Actually, with how he spoke it made it sound like that wherever he was before didn’t have much color- and that this was his first real exposure to seeing so much of it in one place.
Between the two Baal was the calmer of the two. He exercised patience while Aym was ready to go on guard on any perceived threat. It was… that attitude that led to Aym being the start of most conflicts between him and another cultist. Baal was never too far behind to try to diffuse the situation before hands were thrown.
“You.” Aym hissed as he approached where you stood, axe gripped tightly in your hands as you stood over a pile of chopped wood.
Things… had been strange as of late. With each new addition to the cult, the world around the flock seems to change.
While the season never changed, remaining at a comfortable temperature to allow crops to grow with little issue… a faint chill began to sweep across the land… you had overheard the Lamb confiding in the outcast about something coming from across the ocean.
What it was, you hadn’t heard- having chosen to get back to your work instead of risking getting caught eavesdropping.
“I have a name you know,” You lightly scold the cat as you set the axe down and take him in. He looked… rough.
“You got into another fight, didn’t you?”
Aym scoffs, turning his head slightly to avoid your accusatory stare. “I won,”
“You look like you got punched in the face, come here-”
He makes no move to close the gap between you, leaving you to be the one to step forward. You dig into your pocket and take out a cloth, usually used to wipe sweat off your brow… but now. You press it to his bleeding nose.
“Keep that there, lean your head- forward forward! Not back!” You hissed as he attempted to lean his head backwards. “You’ll swallow blood like that,”
You take a deep but quiet breath and release it… scanning over his shoulder showed that Baal wasn’t too far behind- the other cat’s pace picking up as his eyes locked in on you and his brother.
“Who did you fight this time, anyway? I don’t think there’s many folks here that can rough you up like that,”
“That damn.. Yellow cat.” Aym hissed through the cloth as he lowered his head forward slightly more, gripping the fabric tight in his claws as he tried to catch the blood.
You frown- your look of surprise turning into one of disapproval. “Julty?”
“If that’s their name-”
“Aym!” Baal hissed as he finally made it to the two of you. “There you are-!” He huffed as he slowed to a stop and looked between the two of you. “What’s going on? Why are you covering your face… are you okay?”
“He’s fine, Julty just busted up his nose,” You run a hand over your face- trailing it up over your head and letting it fall to your side. “I don’t even want to ask how he managed to piss them off enough to get them to throw a punch, Julty’s…” You trail off, your disapproving look returning to Aym as he took the cloth off of his face. At least his nose had stopped bleeding.
“It’s not my fault everyone here is so… boring- where’s the fight? All everyone does here is sit around and do- nothing!” Aym hisses as he crumbles the cloth in his fist. You and Baal exchange a look.
“He’s a little pent up-” Baal began, but Aym groaned.
“I’m not pent up! I’m just tired of being cooped up in this-” Aym’s hands tense as he gestures to the flock’s grounds.
The flock’s grounds were… calm. Peaceful, a massive contrast to the harsh and dense forest surrounding the clearing.
Everyone had a job and the most action that took place- outside of Aym’s attempts at starting a fight- was the occasional cultist venturing out on a mission and managing to return to tell the tale.
The lands outside only seemed to be falling deeper into disarray as time passed. Another reminder that there was something happening…
A fragile peace that seemed to get under Aym’s skin and make him itch with the need to do something to get his energy out. One can only look at the same faces so many times before the novelty of being in a new world wears off.
“It’s risky starting fights like this- making enemies aside, the Lamb doesn’t take too kindly to those who rock the boat… honestly I’m surprised you haven’t been set to the pillory- at minimum-” You shift between your feet and fold your arms over your chest.
“It’s because of our Master,” Baal sheepishly admitted. He leaves it at that even as you look at him to elaborate.
“If we could convince the Lamb to let us out on a mission or to simply… gather resources that would be enough to ease tensions,” He continued, his eyes darting to Aym at the mention of tension. “But they don’t seem to trust us to wander far from camp,”
Aym scoffs.
“As if we need permission to go anywhere, we don’t have to heed to them,”
“Aym-”
You stop the two before they can even begin to attempt to bicker.
“Did they ever say that you couldn’t go without someone supervising you?”
The pair stop and snap their eyes to look at you… you hadn’t expected them to stop so suddenly at your words, but you push on.
“I mean, technically it’s still leaving the immediate grounds, but if you need somewhere to go to just… hit or yell your frustrations out I know somewhere a little ways away, it’s… not an adventure but-”
“Where.” Aym interrupts.
You hesitate, scanning your eyes around for anyone who was nearby… you were the only one in the immediate area working on chopping wood- everyone else was working on their own thing or mindlessly wandering around and chattering away with fellow cultists.
And to make things better, the Lamb was currently out on a crusade- far away and unlikely to hear of the three of you slipping away for a few hours.
It… was almost too perfect.
“Come on,”
With that you set your axe to the side, digging the blade into the trunk you were using as a prop to cut your logs on. You beckon the pair to follow behind you… and they trail behind you.
“Why not go through the stairs?” Baal asked quietly as he leaned closer to your ear.
“This ways faster, and I don’t want anyone seeing us… I don’t want word getting to the Lamb that we’ve been sneaking around…”
The three of you step through the thick trees and push through the thicket surrounding the flock’s camp. In an instant the atmosphere seemed to shift into something far more unwelcoming. Something colder, something harsh. The further you got from the grounds the more it felt like there was a lurking danger- just barely out of sight.
Baal stood on guard, and Aym focused his eyes through the branches and bushes- ready to spring into action at anything that dared to pounce from the foliage.
“Where exactly are we going?” Baal muttered as he matched your pace, sticking close to your side in a defensive act as Aym trailed a step or two behind you both.
“You’ll see,”
As the minutes pass by, the tension grows thicker… until finally you manage to break free into a clearing. You all must have been walking for at least half an hour… but the view at the end was worth stepping over sharp stones and thorns scattered across the forest floor.
A chill breeze swept over you as you stepped closer to the edge of the cliff. It wasn’t a long drop… certainly nothing to sneeze at and it would be a pain to climb back up… but not a deadly height. The horizon ahead was for the most part clear… it… was impossible to see it from how the forest blocked it from the grounds.
Baal comes to a stop next to you, taking in the way everything seems to simply… disappear. Blipping out of existence into one thin line. His black fur swayed slightly against the breeze, his hands lightly clenching and relaxing as he took in the sight.
Aym on the other hand was picking twigs out of his coat. “It’s just another clearing, what’s so special about it?” He huffed as he shook the remaining pieces from him. He was about to open his mouth again to complain, before his eyes settled on the horizon… the sight seemed to take whatever words right out of his mouth.
“Look at the way the sky bends… why does it do that?” Baal asked as his eyes flitted across the clouds as they dragged across the sky. You can only offer a shrug. “I’ve got no idea… but it looks nice, doesn’t it?”
Baal only offers a nod as his pupils widen- the sun caught in them as they widened, prompting them to revert back to slits.
“You can’t get a view like this back at the flock, there's too many trees around… blocks most of the sky except for what’s directly above us,” You hum softly.
With a soft sigh you settle yourself onto the ground and dangle your legs off of the edge of the cliff. The grass was… longer here. Unkept.
Of course it was… you were sure you were the only person in a long time to come here- and now, you come with company.
“I sometimes come here when I need some time alone from the flock… it’s… nice with the flock but sometimes I just need to just… sit in silence. Or scream, no one can hear us here,”
Baal only nods as he remains standing. His tail lowers to a rest- completely still except for the occasional swish.
Aym could be heard pacing around behind you.
“No one, huh?” He asked as his footsteps came to a stop.
“I mean, outside of some critters… I haven’t had any problems with heretics either, I don’t think there’s anyone around for miles- except the flock but… no one’s come rushing whenever I’ve made some noise,”
You curl the grass into your fingers.
“It’s… not a fight like you wanted Aym… maybe you can go punch a tree or something…” You glance at him over your shoulder. He had resorted to scratching the bark with his claws.
At least that motion seemed to do something to soothe him.
“That works too,” You turn back ahead to the horizon… the sun was beginning to set, turning the space around you into an array of golds and oranges- clouds that were once pure white were slowly being stained gold and purple.
The effect completely enraptured Baal as his eyes took in every single color. This was… a much wider array of colors that he got to see in the flock. No two spaces in the sky looked the same color. Some were stiff shifts in colors, others were smooth gradients.
Baal’s eyes occasionally dart across the sun as its color intensified into a brighter glow- his stare not lasting for more than a second to avoid burning himself.
“You know, sunrises are pretty, too,” You offer him a smile. Baal nods slightly. “Are they now?”
“What’s so special about seeing something go up and down-” Aym grumbled as he turned from the tree he had been clawing at. His words stop as he too begins to watch the sun slowly make its descent under the horizon. His claws sheathe themselves as he finally decides to join you and Baal at the cliff's edge. Even as he attempted to feign disinterest, but the perking of his ears betrayed him as he mimicked his brother's actions. Eyes trailing and flickering across the sky as the color shifts with each minute that passes.
The three of you stood in silence like that for a few more minutes, the only sound was the rustling of leaves as the wind shifted through the forest behind you- and the occasional sound of your heel meeting the cliff under you as your legs swayed peacefully.
“It kind of burns.” Aym suddenly stated. You whip your head around to look up at him, catching his eyes as they squint but struggle to remain open as he looked straight forward into the sun.
“Don’t look directly- Aym-! Stop-” You tug on his robe. He scrunches his eyes shut and hisses.
“Well what’s the point of watching if you can’t look directly at it, it doesn’t make much sense if you ask me,” He growled, running the roughened pads of his fingers over his eyelids in an attempt to rub the warpedness of his sight out. Aym opens them again and blinks a few times. His ear twitches slightly before he focuses on you.
“You’re… not supposed to look directly at it, you kind of just… look around it if that’s makes sense…? I know you aren’t…” You trail off.
“Aren’t what?”
Baal finally chuckles, earning a glare from Aym.
“You always were a little…”
“Little what?” Aym hisses.
Baal only shakes his head, and instead of answering to his brother he settles on the ground next to you.
Aym makes a few more attempts to get answers only to fall silent when they aren’t given. He huffs, before sitting on your other side with his arms crossed.
“In any case, you’re free to sneak off to here if you ever need some time alone- I don’t mind sharing this place,” You hum.
“Thank you,” Baal said quietly as the sun sunk even deeper down past the horizon.
Aym merely grumbled an acknowledgement.
You weren’t sure if the others had noticed your absence, or when the Lamb was going to return… but one thing was for certain, it was rapidly becoming far too dark to confidently walk back through the woods to the flock.
Though… the brothers didn’t seem all that bothered with spending a peaceful night under the stars…
And you weren’t going to make a fuss about it, either…
Horrific introduction to the brothers aside… This moment was… peaceful. A wonderful break from the extra work and growing tensions…
You’d make it a point in the future to show them more of your secrets with time.
Narinder, Baal, and Aym protecting the reader from a creepy follower
Part two for the previous post! Hooray! Assuming this doesn't post immediately after part one you can find it in the masterlist
Notes: reader is gn, post game, follower narinder baal and aym, baal and aym are visiting the flock/you're visiting them
CWs: unwanted advances/harassment, violence, you get followed when visiting baal and aym, someone is gonna die here
NARINDER
oh he is well aware, and hes going to be exercising the fact that the flock is unnerved by him and generally see him as a threat on his worst days. hes going to be keeping his eyes glued on the two of you and hes going to make sure both of you are being watched. to let you know that someone is looking out for you, and to let your harasser know that theres a witness who also happens to be the creepy cat that stalks around
the moment theres an opening or they get too comfortable hes coming over to shut it down. outright demanding that you come with him to do something together. you cant find it in yourself to deny it- regardless of if you actually believe he needs your assistance. the look he gives the follower is enough to kill-
in fact that follower is either found dead or goes missing within the next few days if not that night. and hes very blunt when you ask about it, hes not going to hide the fact that he got rid of someone who was being horrible. besides his attachment to this flock is none, he has no problem dealing with problem cultists
BAAL
he didnt know you were bring a guest with you to visit him and his family- oh... they... werent invited... immediately hes going to be on that and pulling you to the side and ask if youre okay. he wont let them get anywhere near you, he will even walk you back to the flock and talk to the lamb himself if he needs to
actually confronts your harasser himself to let them know that hes not going to tolerate them being a weirdo. hes not as roughed up looking as his brother but he can find it himself to really project his voice and state that its not going to end well if they persist
hovers around you like your own personal guard dog- guard cat- you never leave his sight and he will not hesitate to put that cultist in their place if they keep following you around and trying to make advances... if youre in a relationship with baal hes going to state that clearly to them instantly
AYM
not afraid to get into a fight. his temper is so much shorter than his brothers, and that really comes out to prove itself when you mutter to him about the problem follower
he doesnt even wait to tell them to back off, they know what theyre doing so theres no point in handling it with kid gloves- hes going to simply walk up to them and confront them, and it will end in a fight. being deaths disciple left him with a lot of time and training. aym knows how to do some real damage to someone, no matter the outcome hes going to make sure that theyre going to leave you alone from now on. doesnt matter if theres witnesses- that just means theyll know not to threaten and make you uncomfortable in the future
even after its done and over with hes going to stick with you to make sure youre okay. his voice is uneven with barely contained rage... and triumph... and generally trying to catch his breath after the fight- but he does make sure to ask if youre okay
I need to write more cotl stuff hmmm hmmm... I kinda want to write something for clauneck but I know no one fucks with him silly style like I do
Characters: lamb, narinder, baal, aym
Notes: reader is gn, NONE of these bitches know that it's partially a sign of affection!!!, post game, this was originally going to include the goat but I still don't know how I want to write them
CWs: none
LAMB
Oh... you've taken their fleece... that's okay, they have a couple extra ones- powerful ones with talismans put into them.. so they're not too bothered about you stealing one of their spares!
That said they do make plans to have something custom made for you... it is getting rather cold out nowadays... hmm... may put some of their wool into it to really make it personal
If you tell them you stole it due to missing them they feel... a certain way... running a cult is so time consuming they didn't mean to make you feel left behind... they try to make more time for you asap-- even if it's not... as soon as they'd like
NARINDER
Give it back, he doesn't like sharing his things all that much. If you're cold he will get you something to cover yourself
The idea that you missed him doesn't cross his mind at all, you may have to explain yourself. He's likely to ask you about it anyway, so there's your opening
He... does not know how to feel about it. Had this happened before his imprisonment he would tease you.. and while the urge to do so is still present, the idea that he was not only wanted but also missed sits oddly in his gut
He.. "begrudgingly" let's you huddle with him under his robe- it's nice and loose on him, there's enough room
BAAL
Honest to god thinks you're cold and asks if you want to go inside. You can keep his robe if you need it, he's not too bothered by the cold. The afterlife wasn't freezing but it wasn't warm either, so he's used to some level of chill... maybe he can convince his mother to make hot coco for everyone...
His ears press down against his head when you tell him you just missed him and that's why you took his outer robes... had he really been that busy lately?
He didn't mean to he promises! It's just been so nice being able to explore the lands after being stuck in one place for so long, and- he's going to take you next time! Explore with him! After you get your own robe- silk cradle is a little chilly...
AYM
Literally tries to tug it off of you, give it to him! That's his! You can go get your own! You probably already have your own somewhere!
You can see the gears in hisbl head turning as you pass it back and tell him you missed him and generally find comfort in wearing it and- oh! He's pushing it back into your hands. Take it. Just take it!! He's not doing it out of pity or passive aggressiveness, he genuinely believes you should keep a hold on it if it brings you comfort
You can have his and he can get another one. He doesn't fully process that you were inviting you to spend more time with him-- he still spends time with you, though! Will forcefully drag you around to check things out
Can't believe it's already time to make a volume 2 for cotl! wowie! You all know the drill! You can find my rules in my pinned and request status in my bio!
