Writing Kaidan’s parents is so fun
“Lorraine!” Azalea excitedly called out as she ran for Kaidan’s mother.
“Azalea! sweetheart, how are you?” She asked, the women embracing upon seeing each other.
“Mom? Dad?” He asked, finally joining them “what are you guys doing here?” Not that he minded of course.
“Well Azalea told me what happened and so your father and I thought we’d come and help.” She explained.
“Made sure to bring the truck, there’s no point in paying any moving fees.” His father said, knocking lightly on the side of it.
“Thanks, I appreciate it.” Kaidan said.
“Of course, what are parents for?” His father grinned patting him on the back.
“Really Kaidan I don’t understand why you don’t tell us these things.” His mother scolded as the four of them made their way inside.
“I would’ve it was just last minute and I didn’t want to infringe on any plans.” He explained, hoping it’d get her off his back.
“Kaidan please, we’re retired. What else do you think we’re doing?” She asked, waving off his concern.
His father shook his head “You’re too self sufficient for an only child.”
“I’m thirty-six.” He dead panned.
His mother nodded “Exactly, far too young not to rely on your parents.”

“So maybe varren puppies weren’t the brightest idea.” Kaidan commented, taking in the state of their couch.
Azalea watched in disbelief as their puppies crawled over and gnawed on their semi-new couch. “They’re…teething?”
Kaidan slowly turned to look at her “teething?”
Azalea nodded “yes, their fangs are coming in, it’s quite normal for all babies.”
“Yeah but human children don’t do this,” he said, guestring to their now destroyed couch. A perplexed look crossed his face “I think?”
Azalea rolled her eyes “what would you rather they use Kai?”
“I don’t know Lea,” he answered, rubbing his eyes “what I do know is that we need a new couch.”
Azalea couldn’t suppress her giddiness at his words “does that mean we get to go shopping?” She grinned.
Kaidan sighed “yes Lea…”
Azalea tripped over the scattered remains of their couch cushions and hurried up the stairs. “I’ll go get ready!”
Kaidan turned away from her and back over to look at their puppies who stood staring up at him innocently. “It’s a good thing you’re cute.” He said, giving them both a good scratch behind the ears before walking away.

Azalea is a cancer so she's a cry baby by nature but probably after Thessia.
The very first time they killed someone:
When she was 18 she almost killed her mother(they got into a fight regarding her joining the Alliance, she's a biotic it happens) but the actual first time was during a mission. She knew that's why she was trained to use a gun but using it on a living thing was still a little jarring for her.
Shepard walks into a bakery. What do they order?
Coffee cake, Kaidan's mom makes her one for her brithday every year. It's her favorite dessert.
During a mission, Shepard breaks an arm. Badly. How do they handle it?
Better than most, living with her mom she's a had a few bones broken she's just glad someone took her to see a doctor about it this time.
A lesson that was hard to learn: That sometimes it's okay to forgive people if you've been wronged or hurt by them cause it's not always intentional. She learned that with Kaidan, she refused to speak to him on the SR-1 because of stuff that happened with they were kids
