Azazus grew up in a small village called Hollow Shades which is a canopy thick enough to block out the sun, well so travelers that passed trough there have told.
The forest that they live in grows various fruits that the bats feed on. Many often fear Azazel for his fangs and accuse him to be and omnivore or blood drinker, they are thankfully wrong. Azazel is a herbivore but prefers fruits and the juices that they in hold.
Azazel came to civilization to learn more about the outside world. Outside in the sunlight he wears especially enchanted shades that help him navigate in well lit areas, as he would normally use in dark lit areas echolocation, mainly by screeching or clicking his tongue.
Though Azazel when dealing with ponies, can come off a bit as cold, he doesn't mean so intentionally but he is quite direct and to the point kind of pony. He prefers the company of books, or close company or even his own kind, though he prefers to have his space.
Sadly though he mistrust ponies, this happened when he first came, some street thugs in the middle of the night, tricked him and beat him up. Making his trust go from neutral to untrustful towards ponies, and sadly to gain his trust, you have to let your actions speak more then words. And that is not easy, so don't judge him if he may seem cold or irritated.
his favorite fruits are though Mangoes, grapes, apples and almonds.
