Hi! Sorry for bothering. I really liked your Jinx gifset, it's beautiful!! I was wondering if you please could explain how you did the pink/blue outline around her? I tried using stroke option, but it applies to the whole gif instead of the edges of specific object and ticking off the channels in the layer options is giving me a completely different effect :( Thank u!
ahhh, thanks bud! i’m glad you liked that jinx edit!! 💙💙 you’re not bothering at all!! the info is down below under the ‘keep reading’!
for this tutorial, i’ll use the second gif from the jinx edit, since it’s easier to see on the black and white gif because there’s no other competing colours in it!
So I recorded half of my usual giffing process for more detailed picture. I'm always staying on the first frame (as seen when you convert the gif to a smart object), but i still get jumpy frames.. i was thinking, maybe it's because i use the action before converting? (just couple of versions of sharpening i made myself). I tried to install another version of PS to see if it fixes the issue (i'm using PS21, i thought maybe there's some glitch with the timeline in it), but the problem is that the version i'm currently using is the only one i was able to get to work properly on my machine (i'm using an m1 mac), the other ones either very slow, or with broken "video frames to layers" function.. and thanks so much for your time!
hmm I think you may be right! the jumpy frames could be because of using the action before you convert. sometimes when I'm editing in frame animation, I notice that some edits only get applied to one frame instead of all (especially if I don't have all the frames/layers selected)
btw I also use PS on an m1 mac, but I'm using 2022. do you happen to have this selected in the menu that pops up if you right-click PS and select "get info"?
i'm gonna see if i can ask some other gifmakers if they know what may be causing this issue! if i get any different feedback, i'll be sure to reply to this ask so you can see it!
HI! So sorry for the late reply! I figured, it was actually because of the action as u said! I had to duplicate it and then remove some steps from it so it would work properly specifically for the timeline, and i got rid of the jumpy layers :) As for PS, I tried to install the latest version, but for some reason when i check the "open with Rosetta" option, it works like 4x times slower than my current one, especially when i'm using the "video frames to layers" function... idk why that happens :/ And THANK U SO MUCH for your help, you're the sweetest! <3
oh yay!! you fixed it then!! i'm so happy i could be of some help <3 about ps22, I do know it's been finicky for some ppl but hopefully with the jumping issue fixed you can keep going with ps21! i'm so glad you were able to figure things out!!
p.s. if you're ever looking for different actions to try, i always recommend this action pack to my friends! it's for ppl who work in this gif method (frames to vt back to frames) <3
Hi! Just wanted to say thank you for your fade transition tutorial, it's very useful! If u don't mind me asking, do u have any tips for what to do if you get jumpy frames after you convert frame animation to video timeline? I love VT cause it gives me the ability to animate effects, but also gives me this everytime, it's very annoying! The problem is that it's the middle of my gif, and not the beginning, so i can't add a freeze frame :( It looks just fine in frame animation tho (before converting), and i'm almost DYING FOR A FIX, cause it ruins pretty much everything.. thanks again!
hey! i'm so happy that tutorial was helpful!! :) hmmm the jumpy frames are strange... i haven't had this happen to me before. off the top of my head, the only reason i could see this happening is by accidentally moving some layers before converting to video timeline. but the fact that it looks fine when you play your gif in frame animation before converting to video timeline means that can't be it. do you mind telling me more about the steps you take between the gif looking fine and then noticing the jumps? like how are you converting, when are you cropping/resizing, etc? does anything look weird when you position the playhead on the exact spots where you get the jumps (like if you zoom into the timeline all the way)? feel free to DM me if you prefer! i'm happy to help in whatever way i can :)
Hi! Just wanted to say your gifs are gorgeous!!
Heyyy! Thank you sm! 💙
HAVE THE HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS ZSÓFI! You're wonderful ❣️Timeless squad forever! ♥︎
Thank you so much, Dasha!! 💕 So nice to see you back here on Tumblr!
Hey! I saw you reblog some of my Aziz edits, thanks so much! I take it from the tags that you wanna watch it.. You probably found it already, but in case you didn't, you can watch the show with eng subs here. There are some pop-ups, but an adblock will fix it for ya :) or you can search for "aziz" on yt and watch it with youtube auto-generated subs on the show's official channel. Hope that helps and thanks so much again :)
Oh thank you so much, sweetheart! I actually didn't find any links with english subs for it, so I'm really grateful for this. It totally looks like my kinda show lol.
And your gifs are so great!!
