zebra, hi bud!!! i would definitely rec xo, kitty if you like slowburn rolationships bc mooncovey are adorable !! i honestly love them and have been rooting for them, especially after s2. mooncovey's first interaction is hilarious and it's all downhill from there jalkdja it's also a great brain off type of show which was great and honestly, if you love to all the boys i've loved before, i think you'll like the series ! it's just a fun show (if you haven't see the movies, that's okay, iirc they did a small recap of the movies in the s1) and has some great cameos from the original movies! if you start the series, come scream at me bc moh hasn't watched the series yet and i need people to scream about it with jalkdja 💙💙 also february is good but it's so damn cold here so that's not fun rn so i hope february's been better for you jlakdja
Hi! Sorry for bothering. I really liked your Jinx gifset, it's beautiful!! I was wondering if you please could explain how you did the pink/blue outline around her? I tried using stroke option, but it applies to the whole gif instead of the edges of specific object and ticking off the channels in the layer options is giving me a completely different effect :( Thank u!

for this tutorial, i’ll use the second gif from the jinx edit, since it’s easier to see on the black and white gif because there’s no other competing colours in it!
1) make your gif as per usual, and edit/colour it as to your liking (this is how my gif looks without the pink/blue outlines):
2) next your going to copy and paste the original gif layer two times (so there are 3 gifs of the same scene in total):
3) unclick the eye icon on the top most gif layer (in my case, i clicked the eye icon by ‘layer 3′):
4) double click directly on top of the second gif layer (in my case, i double clicked ‘layer 2′):
5) that will bring up a new box titled ‘layer style’, which automatically opens up ‘blending options’ tab (i don’t click on any other tab, i.e. like you did with stroke, i just stay on this tab the whole time for the pink/blue outlines):
6) here is where you will play around with the outlines (where it says ‘channels:’ and has R, G, B, with little check marks beside them):
7) for the pink outline, uncheck the ‘R’ and the ‘B’ channels (this makes the little grey box under the word ‘preview’ turn into a green box, since only ‘G’ remains check marked):
which in turn makes the gif more pink/purple (can be compared to the screenshot in step 1)
8) click ‘ok’ to apply only the ‘G’ channel to the gif and move the gif over a bit so you can actually see the lines (i.e. move the ‘G’ channel gif 5 shifts to the right and 5 shifts down, etc.):
9) as you can see, there’s green in here that i don’t have on my jinx edit that’s because the ‘G’ channel controls both the green and pink highlights, so you’ll have to double click once again on the second gif layer (in my case, ‘layer 2′):
which once again opens up the ‘layer style’ box that is automatically opened on the ‘blending options’ tab
10) now you’re going to play around with the layer colouring themselves (i kept these 2 steps together because i usually just do them together instead of applying the colouring and then clicking again to apply another one):
for the gray colours titled ‘this layer’, i moved the arrow from the white towards the middle (where it now reads ‘138′ instead of ‘255′) because it gets rid of the green (if i had done it from the left, it would’ve removed the pink)
now you can see the green is much less vibrant than the green in step 8
then after that was complete, i went to the ‘underlying layer’ gray colours, where i moved the opposite arrow (the dark gray arrow towards the middle, now reads ‘82′ instead of ‘0′) so it could get rid of basically all the left over green (there’s still a bit but i didn’t mind that at all since it’s barely noticeable)
and that’s the pink outline done! now i could’ve left it here and said this gif was complete, but because that gifset was all about the pink and the blues, i wanted to add a blue outline as well.
11) click the empty box (that you had previously unclicked in step 3) on the top most gif layer (in my case, i click the empty box by ‘layer 3′ so the eye icon appears once again):
12) you’re going to follow steps 4 - 10 all over again but now when you get to step 7, you’re going to uncheck the ‘R’ and the ‘G’ channels so only the ‘B’ channel remains check marked and keep going until you get to step 10
i hope this made sense! like i said in my jinx typography tutorial, i know it might seem like a lot but when you do this over and over again, you become so quick at completing it that it doesn’t even seem like you’re doing this many steps when you get the end result! i also explained everything in full detail (like even the small steps that you already seem to know, i.e. double clicking on the layer to get the ‘layer style’ box, etc).
