So I have at some point tagged all of you in various things I’ve reblogged that I thought would interest you. To do this, I would tag you in my reblog, save the post as a draft, edit the reblog to delete the @ mention, and then post the reblog. This allowed me to tag you guys in posts without actually adding a caption to the post, so that you would still get a notification.
However, it seems tumblr has a new bug where people tagged this way in posts are getting notifications at random from subsequent reblogs of the post by other people. It’s not every reblog. Just the occasional one at random.
I’m not sure if this bug is affecting all @ mentions or just the deleted @ mentions that I use, but I never thought tumblr would fuck up quite this badly. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised.
Until this problem gets sorted out, I will not be @ mentioning anyone in reblogs of posts anymore. I will only @ mention people in my original posts when relevant (such as for replies). But you guys may still get notifications in your activity feed from previous reblogs I have tagged you in already. I don’t think there’s anything I can do about that, but I offer my sincerest apologies. I never meant to inconvenience you in any way.
