This is Lassen Volcanic National Park-Land! by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: At the true summit of Lassen Peak with a view looking to the southeast while taking in the setting of ridges and peaks in this part of the California Cascades. This is located in Lassen Volcanic National Park. In composing this image, I took advantage of the high ground I was located on and angled my Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera slightly downward to raise the horizon. I felt that would help to create more of a sense of grandeur with this setting.

High Adventure in Great Basin National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the southeast across a mountainside with forest all around. This is while walking the Baker Creek Loop in Great Basin National Park. My thought on composing this image was to angle my Nikon SLR camera to capture a sweeping view across this mountainside and have the blue skies above as a backdrop for the forest. I would use a layered approach by including some of the large rocks on this mountainside leading up to the forest and ridges off in the distance.

Itineraries in Exploring Big Bend National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the southeast while taking in views across the Rio Grande and border with Mexico and the tall cliffs of the Sierra Ponce stretching off to a distant horizon. By including some nearby plant-life and vegetation, I hoped to create more of a layers look, from near to far. The blue skies and clouds would be that color contrast to complement the earth-tones in the lower portion of the image.
