A Revisit with Athabasca Falls and Mount Kerkeslin (Jasper National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the southeast while taking in views along a walkway at Athabasca Falls. This is in Jasper National Park along the Icefields Parkway. With this image, I was focusing on the waterfall, keeping that starting point in the image center. I then lined up to have the Mount Kerkeslin as a backdrop to complement the waters flowing by.

Mother Bear and Cub (Jasper National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While at a roadside pullout along Maligne Lake Road with a view looking to the southwest to a mother black bear and her cubs eating away. This is in Jasper National Park. In composing this image, I attempted to center the mother and one of her cubs, as they were eating grasses and wildflowers in this field.

Finding My Home in the Mountains of Jasper National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While taking in views at Athabasca Pass Lookout and a setting to the southeast across a nearby forest and mountainside in Jasper National Park. My thought on composing this image was to take advantage of the layers present and create a look beyond to the more distant ridges and peaks of Mount Kerkeslin and Mount Fryatt. While there was a slight haze from the wildfires going on in Alberta at the time, I was able to reduce some of that using the ClearView Plus tool in DxO PhotoLab 6. I also worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 6 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.

What I wanted to capture with this image was the setting of the lake with the mountains as a backdrop.

Here I captured a set of images of this mother black bear and her cubs as they ate various grasses and wildflowers in this field. As I pressed the shutter, she seemingly just happen to be looking in my direction.

Dandelions Are Delicious :-) (Jasper National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the southwest while taking in views of several black bear cubs and a mother bear along the Maligne Lake Road in Jasper National Park. What drew me into this image was the cuteness of watching the cub munch away on these wild flowers, in particular some dandelions. With this image, it seemed one cub was right next to one and ready to eat it.

Sixth Bridge in Maligne Canyon (Jasper National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While at the Sixth Bridge area looking to the northeast and bridge itself. This is in Jasper National Park. My thought on composing this image was to pull back on the focal length and include more of the forested landscape to add to the setting of this bridge and crossing.
