Old Fashioned Time Outside in Nature (Petrified Forest National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the south while taking in views across desert grasslands and petrified wood fragment present along the Agate House Trail in Petrified Forest National Park. I angled my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward to create a more sweeping view and bring the horizon higher up in the image. I felt that might have helped to bring out a sense of scale and perspective present with the petrified wood fragments at this location.

So There I Was in Great Basin National Park And See Some Wild Turkey! by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While walking the Baker Creek Loop with a view looking to the south across part of this more open area next to a forested area a friend and I were walking. This is in Great Basin National Park. Through the trees, we happened to notice this rafter of wild turkeys. One of us had read the story of how they came to be in this national park. In fact, I had come across them while on a drive the day prior and was seeing them up close this afternoon! The rest of the story behind the image is just waiting to capture them looking up or group together.
