Heading into the Mountains by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A setting looking to the south while taking in views down a dirt road with snowcapped mountains as a backdrop. This was just outside a small town called Cushenbury, California.

Along Main Street and a Look to the Pacific Ocean by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While at a stop for shopping at Mendocino Jams & Preserves with a view looking to the south across Mendocino Bay. My thinking in composing this image was to capture a balanced, leveled-on setting. There would be a little patch of the grassy meadow to my immediate front below the ocean waters. Other portions of the southern coastline would be a distant landscape before the horizon. There were mostly cloudy skies off in the distance. I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation in DxO PhotoLab 5. I then exported a TIFF image to Nik Color Efex Pro 4 where I added a Polarization, Skylight, and Pro Contrast filter for that last effect on the image captured.

Taking in The Complete Setting of Snoqualmie Falls (Black & White) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: A conversion to black & white using Silver Efex Pro 2 where I used some color filters to bring out a much richer tonal contrast for the final image.

I've Read that Memories Last a Lifetime (Denali National Park & Preserve) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I've Read that Memories Last a Lifetime, But they really don't. You forget them in a moment's time With my camera in hand, I capture some of those moments, Reliving them again when I work on the images or Add details in metadata. I'm lucky to experience my adventures once again, Even if my mind doesn't always remember, but my images do... Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one late mooning while walking along the shores and dock area of Wonder Lake in Denali National Park & Preserve. The view with this image is to the south looking across a grassy meadow and then the waters of Wonder Lake with the snowcapped peaks of Denali and the Alaska Range rising above all that. There was a tranquil feeling I wanted to capture with the grassy gently blowing with each passing breeze and the mountains caught in the early afternoon sunlight. I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation while playing around as I learned how to work with DxO PhotoLab 3 that I’d recently purchased after moving away from Capture NX2.

Buttonwood Canal and Blue Skies (Everglades National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: I captured this image during a Backcountry Boat Tour along the Buttonwood Canal in Everglades National Park. This picturesque setting is to the south looking downstream with mangrove lining the waters and a few people on kayaks off in the distance. I chose to angle my Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera slightly downwards so that I could raise the horizon and capture more of a sweeping view looking across this national park landscape. There would be a little bit of blue skies to complement the setting in the image.
