Aztec Money expands its presence in the Americas to support its customers

Aztec Money is proud to announce the opening of a new office in Miami, Florida, located in the neighbourhood of Brickell, one of the largest financial districts in the United States.

The company currently has coverage in more than 38 countries and continues to expand its footprint around the world. Aztec has opened this office to better serve its expanding client base in Latin America. Aztec office in Miami manages corporate suppliers that are based in Florida as an entry point to the US.

As the second largest U.S. city with a Spanish-speaking majority, the “Capital of Latin America” will prove to be an important base for Aztec’s continuing expansion into the American continent.

Mexican Ambassador to Ireland Carlos Garcia De Alba meets with Aztec Money CEO Edwin Hagan-Emmin

Aztec Money met with Carlos Garcia De Alba, the Ambassador of Mexico in Ireland. The Ambassador was keen to hear the services that Aztec Money provides and to understand how he could facilitate co-operation between Aztec Money and businesses in Mexico.

Edwin Hagan-Emmin, Aztec Money’s CEO, introduced the company to Carlos Garcia De Alba, and explained the different ways that Aztec Money can help provide businesses in Mexico, that are often neglected by larger banking institutions, to grow and expand and ultimately become more competitive within the global marketplace.  Edwin Hagan-Emmin also stressed the attractiveness of Aztec Money’s platform to countries seeking to attract additional foreign direct investment and highlighted how Aztec Money’s relationships with major financial institutions could also benefit those countries.

Carlos Garcia de Alba made clear the potential for Aztec Money within Mexico and cited a number of large corporations that work with smaller suppliers in Mexico and who could benefit from Aztec Money’s supply chain financing offering.  The Ambassador was eager to facilitate introductions to these corporations within Mexico and emphasised that Mexico was already being used by a number of foreign corporations as a base for their operations in LATAM.

In addition to the discussions the  Ambassador met with a number of the multi-national, multi-lingual Aztec Money team based in Dublin, including the Business Development Vice President for LATAM, Gianfranco Pirastu, who is based in the company’s office in Miami and runs the operations for the Central and South American markets.

This meeting was extremely positive for both parties involved and was regarded by Aztec Money as a vital step forward in reaching its objective to expand further into Mexico and the rest of Latin America.

Aztec Money experiences aggressive growth in Costa Rica after its second month of operations

Costa Rican companies are already benefiting from Aztec Money after the second month of the operations launch in the country.

Aztec´s services warmly welcomed in the country, where local companies are using the online platform to finance their exports and local trade repeatedly.

Costa Rica is currently a very stable country in both political and economic terms, which is boosting the foreign investment attraction in the last few years.

Pablo Lacruz, Aztec Business Development Representative in Costa Rica introduced the company to exporters and local companies on 13th of May in San Jose and on 14th of May in Ciudad Quesada in collaboration with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Costa Rica and the Regional Authorities.

Aztec Money financed many Costa Rican companies in its second month of operations and expects to dramatically increase numbers in a short period of time, due to the great interest shown by the local companies.

Aztec Money Launches into Egypt

Egyptian Companies are still key players in the export marketplace despite the unstable political environment.  Egyptian Exports are diversified among different sectors such as Fruits and Vegetables, Petroleum, Fertilizer, Food and Beverages, Textile and Metals.  With Import Partners mainly in Europe and the US, Egypt hit the target of over $33 billion of exports in 2010 and since then the volume has been increasing. The high quality, the high production standards and the competitive prices of their products are some the key reasons that place Egypt as one of the most preferable suppliers for big corporates in Europe and the US.

Egyptian companies supply very competitive products to developed countries but at the same time they have limited access to funding due to the fact that the Global Banking Regulations affect the Financial Institutions’ activity within the country. With a Market Credit Rating of B- (from S&P and Fitch) and CAA1 (from Moody’s), the Egyptian Companies struggle to find enough working capital to expand their business quickly and become more competitive.

Aztec Money brings financing alternatives to Latin America

Ireland-based online financial marketplace Aztec Money has expanded its operations to Chile, Peru, Colombia and Costa Rica, according to a release by the company.

Companies in these countries with cash flow and funding needs will now be able to access Aztec's online platform and auction invoices to non-bank institutional investors based anywhere in the world, such as mutual funds, insurance companies and multilateral agencies.

Today there are many medium and large companies throughout the continent that require new options to finance their daily cash operations, and the Aztec Money model is a unique alternative to traditional banking and invoicing options, said the firm.

As vice president for business in Chile and Latin America, Francisco Martinez will be responsible for developing and positioning these services in the region.

Initially only exporters will be able to auction their invoices, but the company is working on incorporating new sectors, says Martinez.
