wildcard prompt! give me the blessing with shukri!
Shukri has a pitch/pale relationship with the blessing. She's a bit against the whole idea of just having a random alien(messiah backed or otherwise) just...being a quad.
Then the blessing sassed her for 'acting all pretentious' about that sentiment.
They go back and forth trying to out sass/fluster each other until someone can't clap back anymore.
Shukri does like the variety from them. She never knows what she'll get with them and it's very exhilarating.
The Land That Our Grandchildren Knew (B!Reader x Brian May)
THIS WORK IS PART OF THE ORIGINAL TIMELINE
Requested: NO
Type: SFW, FLUFF ?, ANGST.
Summary: A little glance at life back to normal after Brian and B!Reader get over the cheating scandal.
Warnings: None.
A/N: So this came out of nowhere in my mind. I have struggled with being creative for a while and I just do not know why(?) but here we are! I hope someone out there enjoys reading this one.
*For anyone who does not remember (lol it has been a while): B!Reader (often B!R) is "Brian!Reader", and R!Reader (or R!R) is "Roger!Reader".
âThe one thing he did not know was how much I loved him. In a previous life, in a time when things were so much more complicated. When war was splitting us apart and leaving us breathless. Motionless in a world of aggressive turmoil. There was little we could do when everything was amiss. All around us things were blowing up, giving in upon themselves the buildings fell, and the cities died along with their lights and spectacles.
âThe love I grew and nurtured for him was the last reminding power of the old Earth, scattered through the cosmos like dust as I searched for him in a ridiculous journey. I did not meet a king in a tiny planet, and I never saw a rose grow on the dry lands of the foreign space countries. We had each other but time made it so that I was here today while he was here yesterday. Today was never ours, today was a promise we believed and ate up and followed with blind eyes until the moment when the sound of truth, deafening and cruel, locked us out of each otherâs life. And still, forever, my love for him is true and enduring. Out there, I know he will feel my presence in the air, see me in the clouds, savour me in the smell of rain and grass. He will miss me when the night is cold, and the sound of wind reminds him of my voice⌠Yes, he will be empty when he hears the silence, the way I will always feel too when I look back at Earth and regret every second spent away from the one who called me Venus.â
The crowd claps and smiles and I see the people in the front look at the books in their hands with expressions of confusion and deep thought. A good reason to write something is to make people wonder, so for B!Reader this one was a success. She had taken so long to finish the manuscript, not that she was being lazy; with the scandal of Brian cheating and the twins taking sides, it was hard to focus on this. This book was not what she intended on writing when she began doing research for it. It started with the Irish War of Independence, she went around Britain meeting historians with much better understanding and knowledge on the topic. It soon turned upside down when the news appeared on every single form of media⌠Brianâs stunt. She would call it what it was now; he had cheated.
It was hard to get over it. B!Reader took time off with her mother in Scotland, she had taken the kids with her, much to Brianâs displeasure, but he was in no position to complain. When she came back home, she was still defeated by the details. Brianâs lame explanation sounded more like an excuse but even she had to admit that her husband did not have the best track record when it came to women.
She was probably the one he had been the most loyal to at that point â even when he had cheated on her once.
So, she tried. They sought professional help. A therapist. First coupleâs therapy, and then one-on-one sessions alone. She hated every second of it, which could not have been fun to hear for their therapist. Nothing seemed to be helping, in fact B!Reader talked to a lawyer in secret⌠but her career was also on the line at that point, and she was desperate for ideas, desperate to reconnect with the only man she ever truly and completely loved. Her manager had the idea, âread some of Brianâs stuff, maybe ask him about his PhD work, maybe he will inspire you and if he doesnât at least you will have spoken to each other⌠itâs worth a tryâ. And so B!R did that, although not in the way her manager had meant. She was stirring her on the direction of reading some of his lyrics not his space dust thesis⌠Nevertheless, the story began there.
B!R could not understand much, and she wound up spending a lot of time talking about physics and space with her husband. Brian was a patient teacher, she already knew that, but it was now being confirmed to her. He was also happy to be able to go on and on for hours, the topics where his cup of tea, and they had numerous cups of tea too while B!R took notes and began toying with a historical fantasy mix for her next book.
Today she was reading from her favourite chapter in the book. It had been a massive hit; one she could not quite understand. If she was being honest, the book was more like therapy for her than her actual therapy sessions had been. She cried while writing it and poured a lot of emotion into it, which she rarely did. Her writing had always been more âŚimpersonal, presented almost as a sort of biography of fictional characters rather than real moving parts of the imaginary world they were living in.
She had never written such an odd story before, with time skips and a weird space journey concepts implanted in the middle of 1920 Ireland.
âYou did great, mum.â A proud Fred wrapped his arm around her middle.
Even though the teen boy was still that, a teenager, he managed to already stand a couple centimetres taller than his own mother.
âThank you love, did you get anything of that?â She wondered, wrapping her arm around him in the familiar way a mother does.
Arm around his shoulder, soft play of the tender fingers on the dark curls on the back of the head of her âlittle boyâ.
âNothing at all,â he smiled and shrugged, honesty dripping in shameless glee from his tone. âBut thatâs the cool part, I donât think anyone gets it.â The younger of the twins looked at his mother up and down in her bright blue dress. âExcept Dad. Was that the point?â
B!Reader looked at her son and inhaled a deep long breath, which she held for a moment. Her brows furrowed and her mouth moved like that of a fish.
âMaybe.â She conceded.
âHey mum, would you sign my book?â Harry interrupted, bringing along Jazz and a peculiarly uninterested Max.
Harry gave his mother a wide smile and put a copy of her own book in her hands.
âFor Harry, please.â
âDork,â Max rolled his eyes.
He was the only one to admit he had not finished the book yet the previous weekend when Fred mentioned his mother was doing a reading at a local bookstore while they sat by the Taylorâs pool. And he rushed to get through it. Max was not dumb, and he managed to grasp some of the concepts in the complicated plot, although he did not let on to any of his friends.
âLoved the wormhole bits Mrs May.â Max said once Harry had his signed copy reading for Harry with Love. âThat dark hole and the speed of dark and light near the end were mind-blowing. I never thought of you as a fantasy writer!â
B!Reader nodded and blushed at the compliments. Max was a lot like Roger in that he did know how to make a girl blush with what appeared to be little effort.
âI am glad you liked it,â she said, a trace of pride in her voice.
âI really wish Darragh and Conor had ended up together,â Jazz voiced from around Harryâs tall lean and awkward teen figure. âThey were obviously meant for each other.â
Fred had been in tears when he read the ending of the book. Of course, he would have hoped for his motherâs first queer paring to end together but what that did was echoing life.
âYou have to be the eighth person whoâs said that to me today.â
R!Reader, Roger and Brian were in a conversation of their own next to the long table B!Reader was about to sit before to meet some fans and sign as many copies of her book as time allowed.
She eyed the silver hair on her husbandâs hair, she had been discreet when describing Darragh in her book. A tall, talented, middle-aged, idealist Irish man. A man born in a difficult time. A man who fell in love by mistake, with Conor. A young man described often as immature, who enjoyed a quiet life on board of a spaceship when he got caught up in a black hole and wound up going back hundreds of years and miles into the past. Conor had almost been killed in his attempts of helping his beloved Darragh in fighting what he considered to be hiswar. The battles gave their relationship meaning, although it was never spoken about between them. The adoration was always palpable and present to the last page. Down to the moment when Conor acknowledges that his lover cannot come with him once he finds the way back into his ship, and then it turns into a matter of will. Darragh is revealed to have a similar story, only that⌠he was left stranded in 1905 with no way back to his ship. âThe voice of Venusâ was really a metaphor for B!Reader. A complicated one, as her feelings were when she had to love the man who broke her heart. She felt lost the way Conor felt, but she could tell Brian had been lost for a while before the entire ordeal â defeated in the same manner as Darragh.
And it was fitting, he was older, he was educated. He should have known better than to play in the physics lab with those dangerous materials. Brian should have known better than to play with that old woman.
Conor could have turned his back on Darragh, he knew he was of no help now that he was so invested in the past â now their present. He knew Darragh and himself would never be able to be together if he stayed and they would most likely get killed if they marched on. So B!Reader made them split. She was about to leave Brian when she started writing her book, so it made sense. And when she realised, she did not want to end her marriage, she still wrote it that way because this was the ending she had seen coming for herself before â one she fortunately managed to evade, which still was the ending for many couples.
B!Reader watched the teens as they began discussing the book, Max and Jazz were defending the plot, Fred joined in and the three of them seemed to be getting passionate about proving Harry wrong. The eldest of the group was stubborn about his stance on Conor being right to leave Darragh.
His mother could not help but remember that same stubbornness from the first few weeks after the story broke. Harry had been the one to take it the hardest. When they packed for Scotland, she had to stop him from shattering his project guitar, the yellow guitar he and Brian had been working on for a while. âI donât want it! I do not want anything from him! He is a liar!â He had yelled, with the side of his face still reddened from a slap he received from Brian. She still could not believe she managed to stay impartial at that moment after the mess that had happened in the kitchen when Harry insulted his father â earning a slap from him.
âItâs alright,â B!Reader placed her arm around the twinsâ shoulders. âConor had to go back anyway. He had a family in the spaceship.â
âWhat?â Jazz was the first one to open her mouth.
With a laugh, the young writer looked at the confused faces around her. âHe could never stayâŚâ She shrugged.
Harryâs expression flashed with a difficult emotion, which both Jazz and his mother noticed.
The short girl flipped her long blonde hair and checked the time on her phone, âno wonder Iâm hungry! Whoâs coming?â Her blue eyes searched around in an almost innocent manner.
âYou got to be joking, we JUST ate.â
Max stepped back from his sister and Fred followed, âsorry, I told dad Iâd get lunch with him.â
Blue eyes flipped onto Harryâs figure. B!Reader gave him a squeeze and let go, the sigh he let out being enough of an answer for Jazz to show a large smile, reaching out to grab his hand and pull her to her side. It almost seemed a pass of the baton.
The boy walked taller than Jazz and still, it looked like he was the smaller child. She was sure they had been doing a good job as parents, although that slipdid a number on Harry. The curly haired boy pulled the glass door open and let Jazz go first, only to have her childishly cling on to his arm once they were outside, a smile breaking his serious expression when his young friend told him something â they were too far for B!Reader to make out what Jazz said.
âWhere are those two going?â Brian walked up to her.
He had a cardboard cup of coffee in his hand, which he offered to her. With a mumble she took it and had a testing sip â it was too bitter, but it would do. âNandoâs. Probably.â She gave her husband a soft smile.
Brian nodded in silence, a reflective look on his face.
âHe needs some time, Bri.â She guessed what he was thinking about.
âItâs been a year,â he said with caution.
âHe is getting over it, love.â She took a step closer to Brian and whispered, âheâs picked up the guitar again.â They shared a look before someone called for B!Reader and she left her husband with a peck on the cheek.
I think over time the blessing would learn that the best way to make a clown stop clowning on you (read: teasing) is to clown on yourself. like say they're the inexperienced one from that one ask & a clown's all like 'wait didn't you see a dude naked in that one art class you took' in their clowning tone. & instead of balking they lean into it like 'man what'd you think i was gonna do? i was drawing dick for a grade! i got an A in shlong accuracy. model didn't come back after that.' cue laughs!!
Yes, after managing to fully settle into the arrangement they would.
You met Brian at the library where you two found yourselves doing a weird dance to get past each other in a particularly narrow little aisle.
"Sorry!" You said in unison without looking at each other's face but feet. "Sorry!" You frowned up the second time it happened.
Looking up you saw Brian giving a concerned smile.
"I'll go this way," you pointed to his right.
"Alright... I'll go that way," he pointed at your right.
Your encounters seemed to be limited to that very same aisle. A few times you saw each other during the same term until his curiosity got the best of him and he finally asked you which books you'd been reading.
He was astonished to find that you were doing a paper on the history of science in Great Britain.
"What's your major?"
"History," you smiled up at the tall youngster and he blinked repeatedly in response. "Yours?"
"Astrophysics," he smiled with his canines showing. "Perhaps I can help you...?"
"Y/N," you put your hand out for him to shake, a friendly smile spread across your features.
"Brian."
You were two fools in love for the longest time after that.
Brian was constantly visiting you at your job at a bakery. Not so much for himself but for Roger and Freddie who constantly took advantage of the small treats you always offered them free of charge.
"Stop..." Brian would constantly try to make the boys behave, "won't they take this off your pay check?"
You never got in trouble for the pastries so you smiled down at him as he sat with his friends, a cup of steaming tea in front of him as he looked up.
"You always come by so late, it's either hoping you eat them or throwing them out. I hate to waste food, and I know I won't eat them at home. Eat up, Bri!"
Freddie made it obvious he thought you were too sweet for Brian, although he was teased about it by his other bandmates constantly.
"A fucking history major! Are you sure, Brian?" Roger would play with him.
"Don't ruin what we have with her. Those biscuits are heavenly!"
"I thought you were seeing that other girl..." Deaky would say.
He was seeing that other girl.
But still you would come to every single one of the band's gigs.
You had quite a flirty relationship with Roger although it wasn't serious since he knew Brian had some sort of interest in you.
It took Freddie plenty of attempts but he managed to take you along to see his favourite designer.
You wound up becoming quite close with Dominique.
Not so much with Chrissie... she thought you and Brian spent too much time together.
When you were told that Brian was getting married you started crying without knowing why until Freddie kindly pulled you aside and made you see the fool you were since you were in love with Brian all along and were the only one who wouldn't know it.
Chrissie backed off a bit after the wedding but you took a few steps back from your friendship with Brian.
You almost cheated with Brian in the late 70's, though you couldn't and ended up having a falling out with Brian...
For which he got SO MUCH shit from everyone, especially Freddie.
Let me know if you would like me to go on and expand on this with either Brian or Roger!
Summary: itâs a wedding! B!Reader and Brianâs wedding stort is finally here.
Warnings: all SFW. Fluff all around.
A/N: On popular demand, I decided to narrate what the weddings were like for both of our Original Timeline couples. Although I apologize for it if itâs short and not my best work I do hope you enjoy! â¤
The truth was, B!Reader was having trouble not biting her nails as she waited inside the car. They were already parked outside the church, she was going to come out and walk the aisle in a moment but how could she not be nervous?Â
She was excited, of course, because she could not believe what a wonderful start for the year! Having spent most of the previous year stressing over deadlines for her book and wedding planning, she was now about to tie the knot and once she was back from her honeymoon with Brian she was coming home to the release of her book. Hopefully, the first of manyâŚÂ
So where were these nerves coming from? It might have had something to do with the reporters outside the church. The paps waiting outside of her home for the last few weeks were just relentless.Â
She was not anxious about the things people would write online, she knew the fans of her soon-to-be husband were supportive of their relationship. She was having trouble with the thought of her picture appearing everywhere online, on the papers the next morning. She did not want to be known as Brian Mayâs super young partner, which the media so senselessly had been doing for almost two years now.
âEverything alright?â Her father asked her, looking at her with the same unreadable expression he had on his face the day she moved out of the family home.Â
B!Reader remembered that day and then thought of the conversation she had with her father after she came home with the ring on her finger. Looking down, the ring seemed to shine brighter than ever. A delicate pink band of gold holding the squared diamond in the middle. She thought Brian had an exquisite taste when she first examined the ring, he would never give her some huge rock. No. Brian was too humble for that sort of thing.Â
With her hair falling over her shoulders in those long waves the hairdresser covered in hair spray, she shook her head lightly, minding the veil stuck to the back of her hair where the two strands of her h/c hair were joined from both sides of her head to make for a soft and delicate looking half-up hairdo.Â
âI wish they hadnât found outâŚâ She told her father and re-wrapped her fingers around the bouquet of flowers lying on her lap.Â
âWell,â her dad paused, âif theyâre here, the least you can do is show them how little they matter.â
B!Reader frowned and looked back at her dad, thinking he was someone else.Â
âWhat?â
âCome on,â he reached for the door handle and took a quick glance at his watch, âthis is your big day. My daughter is getting married, and no stupid reporter will ruin this day. I will not allow it!âÂ
It might have been the bubbling up of emotions, or the nerves of the day, she did not know what it was, but she knew she wanted to burst into tears at that moment.
Her parents had never been too excited about her relationship with Brian, and her father had certainly never been shy about it⌠those words, although did not mention Brian, did show that he wanted her to be happy. That she mattered.
He stepped out of the car and looked around, people had gathered outside the small church to watch from a distance as the wedding took place.Â
B!Reader and Brian kept the guest list quite limited to their closest friends and family. Regretfully, Brian would not be able to have his own parents there, but he hoped somewhere in the universe they would see it and be happy for him; instead, he only had his son and daughters there, along with the grandchildren. He invited his closest family, some friends from college, scientists who were for sure going to speak to B!Reader and as always make her feel more than ignorant⌠she did not mind, it gave her and Brian something to talk about later when she asked why in the world were his friends talking about sonoluminescence.
On her side, she invited her sisters and her brother, her parents, a few aunts and cousins, and her small group of closest friends. The two decided to, of course, have their respective agents there as well. The only person she accepted to invite with a frown was R!Reader.Â
âShe gets on my nerves, Brian!â She discussed with him once.Â
âShe is Rogâs girlfriendâŚwe have to invite her.â Brian reminded her.Â
âYeah, yeah⌠he got himself a real piece of work with that oneâŚâ
Regardless, here they were, probably sitting near the front too.Â
B!Reader picked up her bouquet and handed it to her father before taking his free hand and pulling up her dress to step out of the car. Brianâs little grandchildren stood on the side with their mother, Louisa, who waited patiently. The little ones were soon instructed on how to hold the train of the brideâs white dress. The skirt that opened at the waist flew around her figure and she smiled at the kids, lifting her veil just for a second she winked at them and put the see-through piece back on its place as she intertwined her arm with that of her father.Â
It was another emotional moment that day. She suspected Brian had felt many emotions just a moment before when he walked to the altar accompanied by his youngest daughter Emily. With her dad handing her the bouquet again he tapped her hand that emerged from under his arm and gave her a soft smile.Â
They could all only hope for a bright future ahead. Mr. Y/L/N did not intend on giving up his daughter at the altar more than once, and B!Reader had never even pictured things going wring with Brian. They were both mature, and they understood each other even when they did not agree. The arguments were fierce, but both came back to each other a minute after. With so many different interests, they were usually taking part in something outside of their comfort zone. When one of them needed it, they would both stay home and have a break from the world. Brian sometimes needed someone to take care of him, and B!Reader never felt like he took her for granted. Nothing could go wrong, anyone could see how perfect for each other they were - even if the papers tried to bash them for the age gap.Â
Sticking her head up high, she straightened up and walked inside with her dad as they both shared the moment when the guests all turned to her as she approached the aisle. It turned out that although she smiled at everyone there, she could not focus on any face the one of the man waiting for her at the altar.Â
Brian stood there as tall as he was, in his blue suit, a rose on his jacket. He even looked odd with his white shirt buttoned all the way up. His eyes showed a strange gleam, tears? But he was smiling. Yes. There was a small smile on his face, lips in a tight curve, chin tilted down. She watched as Jimmy patted his fatherâs shoulder.Â
The whole thing was a blur, at least to her. After her father put her hand on Brianâs with a rather stern look at the man becoming her husband, everything happened too fast. It all seemed a little meaninglessâŚa wedding in a minuscule part of the universe, B!Reader knew Brian would never see it like that, still; she could not help it but smile at him when they said their vows. If there was anyone she would jump into the void with, it was him.Â
At last, upon hearing that it was done and they were officially men and wife, she turned to Brian and the world appeared to spin at its usual speed now. It fell into place and for the first time, she turned to look at her husband.Â
âDoctor May,â she said slowly, with caution.
Her grey husband smiled down at her and they held one another to give each other their first kiss as a married couple.Â
âMrs. MayâŚâ he chuckled to himself in glee.Â
Their guests all cheered and clapped, but really, they could not care much for it as they ended the kiss before it became something vulgar and uncomfortable to watch.Â
The couple was all smiles as they turned to leave down the aisle, smiling at their friends gathered there to celebrate them.Â
âI was a little nervous this morning. There were reporters outside the house.â She admitted once they were sitting inside the car taking them to the reception.Â
Brian held her hand in his, the two of them almost squeezed together in the backseat while there was plenty of space on the back the 1933 Bentley.Â
âThat is usually how it isâŚâ Brian sighed, âI thought it didnât bother you anymoreâŚ?âÂ
B!Reader leant her head on his shoulder and turned her eyes to his face.Â
âI donât. Itâs justâŚwell, I wasnât ready for all of that happening today. I guess IâŚforgot you are more than an astrophysicistâŚâ
âAhâŚâ He turned his head to kiss the top of her head. âBut they didnât follow me today! It was you who they wanted to seeâŚâ
B!Reader put her free hand on Brianâs chest and giggled with a sense of guilt at her husbandâs subtle compliment.Â
âYou know what? I am not fighting you on this one. I am cute.â She stretched her neck to kiss Brianâs cheek. âAnd all yours now!âÂ
Brian wrapped his arms around her and smiled. When in a thousand years could he ever imagine that he would have the chance to find the right person at his age! The right woman, young and mature. Pretty and smart. Adventurous and caring. Loving and curious. He just could not help it, when they had that conversation about marriage and she looked away at his words. He had said he would never marry again after Anita, and it did not help that she tried her best to hide itâŚshe was heartbroken. Brian knew if he did not make a move at some point, he would just keep hurting her and eventually he would push her away, so he did what any sane man would do. He bought her a ring and proposed. Almost exactly ten months ago that day.Â
âHey, Bri?â She suddenly asked, âhave you heard Adam singing the song?âÂ
âOh, love!â Brian chuckled nonchalantly as he reassured his wife. âAdamâs blessed with that voice, donât worry about it!â
B!Reader shifted in her seat to fix Brianâs collar, she spoke as she did so.Â
âItâs justâŚI was listening to it earlier andâŚwell, this is just a warning, Bri.âÂ
Brian looked at his wife through narrowed eyes.Â
âI might cry during our first dance.âÂ
It was a perfect warning, as soon as the song began and Adam, in his beautiful pink suit, started singing with the band behind him, B!Reader in Brianâs arms let out the first few tears. With Brian singing on her ear she then decided to spend that first dance with her head on his chest as they swayed in the middle of the dancefloor to one of their favourite songs, in fact, he first song they ever danced to together. Doris Dayâs âif I give my heart to youâ in the voice of Adam Lambert.Â
ââŚAnd will you sigh with me when Iâm sad
Smile with me when Iâm glad
And always be as you are with me tonight
Think it over and be sure
Please donât answer âtil you doÂ
When you promise all those things to me
Then Iâll give my heart to youâÂ
Summary: what if B!Reader and Brian had been parents to twin girls instead? They would have been a different kind of trouble...
Warnings: none. It's kinda fluffy.
A/N: this is kind of something I got obsessed with after talking to bae-beh @leah-halliwell92 so this will serve us all as a backstory of sorts for her wonderful ask that you may find here.
B!Reader watched the screen in search for something that made sense. Although she was full of joy at the presumed sight of her babies, she still found no shapes on the screen when her doctor started the ultrasound.
Brian was more patient for these sorts of things; he sat quietly next to his wife and tried to soak everything in as if this was an experience too odd to run through, a chance handed over to him by the universe or God or whatever force moved the planets and created him, his wife, and his daughters. He was only slightly nervous, knowing since the previous appointment how much they would find out today. The babies' genders. Brian knew their chances of having twins were rare, a mere 3.35 percent proved enough, and there he sat with his hand on hers.
B!Reader had different but similar emotions about the pregnancy.
Brian did not expect he would ever become a dad again after his 40th birthday, and yet his eyes fell onto his young wife's belly. A baby bump that brought her brightness and joy in the last couple of weeks; through morning sickness that lasted all afternoon and came back at anytime in response to the minimal scent of something strange. She would laugh and sing around the house. He would find her dancing in the kitchen, humming an old song while breakfast cooked on the stove. Brian hated mornings but her liveliness helped him get out of bed every day, even if it was just to catch a glimpse of her curious eyes as she examined her middle section on the mirror to check the progress and growth of the little ones as her hands felt around the flesh under her belly button.
While B!Reader struggled to see what the doctor was so kind and patient to explain about the shapes and shadows on the screen, to Brian it was clear as day. In the time when he became a father for the first time he was just as confused as his wife was now, still he managed then to see in the poor image of that time his baby boy, nowadays a fully grown man. He marveled again at technology as the images seemed so much clearer than they had been when his youngest daughter was born.
His soft grip on her hand tightened, he recognised something, a simple comment from the doctor made him see it. Or rather... not see it.
"It's girls, congratulations!" She smiled at both of them.
Brian smiled with his lips pushed together in a tight line while B!Reader stared at the screen in amazement, she turned her head to Brian and saw his expression, she let out a laugh and tugged at his hand.
"We're having girls!" She whispered excitedly to which her husband replied by nodding.
It was surreal, he wanted to cry. He cried! And when the doctor let B!Reader clean up her stomach she wrapped her arms around him and they remained like that for a minute.
"I love you...so much..." she whispered against his shoulder.
Brian squeezed her tight between his arms, enough to keep her close and pressed against his body but not too much so he wouldn't harm his baby girls.
The girls. Brian spent long afternoons thinking about the new babies while B!Reader worked on her next book. He knew how much work it would be with one baby, he could imagine how difficult it would be with two. He had to admit, the outfits they came up with for girls were far more interesting than the little numbers out there for boys.
Brian kept writing things down in a notebook, making lists, going back and forth as he tried to imagine everything possible. He put money aside for the babies, for the nursery and their stuff. A fund. The girls would need money for school and who was to say he would still be there when they reached college. So he opened two accounts to put money aside for school. He had little bracelets made for the little ones as soon as he and B!Reader chose their names. Each bracelet read their full name, and Brian got B!Reader a necklace with a little golden plate reading the girls initials, he got himself one too, but kept them all locked and hidden until the girls were born.
Brian worried a lot about the most practical stuff, about the babies' wellbeing, about bringing them to a safe environment. He put a machine to warm up and sterilise bottles in the nursery, got blankets and pillows and stuffed animals to fill in the empty spaces in the brand new cribs. When B!Reader decided she wasn't going to be able to breast feed two babies he made sure the cupboards were filled with formula so they wouldn't have to worry much about that. He put the best of the best in baby monitors in the nursery, painted the room himself with the most useful help of his son and daughters.
By the time B!Reader was six months along she was already starting to panic. Two babies were on the way and Brian had just announced another Queen + Adam Lambert tour the upcoming year... she was thrilled - don't get it twisted -, but she had never been a mother before. She didn't get to experience this journey with one child, and all of a sudden she looked down and instead of her feet she saw a big round mass protruding under her jumper with two growing babies inside. And she was going to be left alone with them?
She was excited and nervous. Being a mum felt strangely natural, she knew she was a mother the moment her pregnancy test came out positive. She felt love for her baby that very second.
She was lost for words when Brian pointed at her and his eyes went wide with a smile drawn all over his features. "You're showing!"
Oh, the pride... she hadn't stopped touching her stomach since that day, and neither had Brian. Every chance he had, he would rest his hand on it, thumb caressing lovingly. He was tender too, careful. He didn't dare get rough with her, but it didn't matter because they were two fools in love. For almost a full year B!Reader forgot everything about their age gap, all that mattered was how much they loved each other and the family they were about to become.
It was late December when the contractions hit. B!Reader was sitting with Brian in the living room, both watching one of those cheesy Christmas specials. While B!Reader was dozing off as usual, Brian rubbed her swollen belly absentmindedly. B!Reader was ready to pop, had been for a couple of weeks at that point, but the doctor decided to program her for a c-section on the 27th, right in the middle of week 38. The girls were just ready at week 37, so thankfully contractions started a week early and before the holidays were upon them, Brian drove his wife to the hospital and a few hours later they had babies Harper Farrokh and Charlotte Harris safely sleeping in mummy's arms.
Brian was crying the moment his older children arrived to see the twins. He held Harper Farrokh in his arms, the smallest baby he had ever held. The two girls were smaller than average babies, due to the fact that they had been sharing resources in the womb. Still, Charlotte turned out to be bigger, she was born second but weighed almost 300 grams more than her sister, and was merely a single centimetre taller than Harper.
"Are these my new baby sisters?" Louisa whispered as she went to take a look at Harper Farrokh over Brian's shoulders.
It did not matter how difficult things had been between Brian's children and his young wife before, the sight of the two little girls wrapped in those pink hospital blankets made everyone ease off. Brian was happy, the happiest he had been in years. His grown children could tell; and B!Reader had always been respectful towards them and their mother, so why fight or argue or cause trouble when there really was no harm done?
The girls were daddy's girls, both of them. Everyone would have guessed that with Harper being smaller Charlotte would be the leader, but it turned out that she was also quite stubborn. Like her dad she did what was asked of her but always was quite independent. The girls were identical on looks but their personalities could not be any more different.
Of course, Brian was outnumbered at home but he loved his girls. All of them - including Bellamy.
Let me know if you like this AU from the Original Timeline and/or if you have questions or concepts or ideas about it!
I think Adam would be both overwhelmed and overjoyed with the twins. Those two were a handful but Adam somehow still volunteered to babysit whenever B!Reader was in town, he just liked to spend time with the boys, they were so curious and full of energy!
So Adam often sings to them, takes them out for walks and let's them play with his dog. When his boyfriend is in town they take the boys out for ice cream or waffles. When the boys start growing up are old enough they ask Brian for Adam and if they're in town they will make Brian put them on the phone with Adam, they looove going out with him. Harry and Freddie go as Adam's flower boys on his wedding.
In honor of our curly space manâs birthday!!! What would b!reader do/give him? It can span through their time together from meeting to the twins being grown. Kudos if they would wake him as little kiddies though!
First of all, I got this yesterday and I'm sorry but I needed a break from tumblr so I wasn't on a lot.
And secondly, that's so fucking sweet! Grab my hand and let me tell ya:
Before B!Reader got together with Brian she would go on a bike ride with him and treat him to ice cream and a laugh, they always had a good time together, of course, this would be the day before or after his actual birthday so he could spend his special day with his actual family.
On the first birthday they spent together as a couple, she baked for him early in the morning and then brought him breakfast to bed, waking him up - a real task -, and singing happy birthday on his ear softly. Brian was woken with a smile and a warm hug from his then girlfriend. As the years went on and they were married, the only difficult birthday was when the twins were about to be born. With a four month pregnancy bump the tradition had to be broken and instead of waking Brian up with biscuits and a delicious breakfast in bed, she woke up a bit later and made coffee, with a light breakfast prepared downstairs she went ahead and got back to bed next to Brian, pulling him closer so he would wrap his arm around her large belly, which Brian gladly and drowsy as he was did. They woke up rather late and spent almost an hour taking in bed before going downstairs and eating together. At this time Brian was hardly taking his hands off of her, ai they sat together and had a lazy day in until the evening, when they went over to Louisa's place and had dinner as usual. Her gift to Brian was a necklace and a brand new vest.
On Brian's next birthday the twins were only seven month old babies, bright, smart and alert little baby boys. B!Reader brought them to bed and put Harry and Freddie on Brian's chest, watching as Brian wrapped his arms around his sons tenderly. He opened his eyes to babbles and a happy birthday song, accompanied by delicious biscuits and cupcakes, pure and milk for the boys. Greek yogurt and fruit for the lady. They followed tradition and went out for a walk with the double stroller, Brian played with Bell and she barked at the twins when they giggled. For gifts a guitar strap with stars and planets all over it, and a beautiful large picture of him holding the twins back in December when they were born - perfect for Brian's office.
As the kids grew older, they would sneak downstairs before B!Reader got out of bed, they learnt quite well and fast so they were always good in the kitchen, though they knew not to use the over or stove without an adult nearby. They would help her, Freddie was a wonderful baker, and Harry made a delicious omelette at age 12. B!Reader was always the one to bring the tray up the stairs and the boys were ahead. Tip toeing into their parents' bedroom they waited till mummy sat the tray down to jump on the bed and wrap their arms and legs around Brian, only leaving little space -before the bed was changed and you upgraded to a larger more comfortable mattress- for you to squeeze Freddie between you and Brian to join the hug and start a cheerful happy birthday song in beautiful harmony with your kids, their voices were still childish and somewhat feminine, changing only after their fourteenth birthday, making for a much more interesting birthday song. By the time the boys were teenagers, they no longer needed to wait for you to get the cooking and baking going, they would however not do any of that. Instead, the boys took to leaving mornings to you two, this way you would wake up Brian with a kiss on the cheek, a flirty good morning and a playful moment of peace and maybe something else (you know what I mean. Sex. It's sex.) before stepping outside and going downstairs to catch Harry and Freddie already wearing their sweatpants and jumper, ready for a walk. Bell wagging her tail, leash in her snout. You would have bikes by then and the boys gladly rode theirs next to Brian, asking him stuff about those birthdays he spent away from home when he was younger. That day would be everything but ordinary. You would stop by at a cafe and have brunch, Freddie and Harry were unpredictable, some years they gave Brian their gifts at this brunch, some others they just enjoyed the conversation with their old man. By the time you got back, everyone needed a shower, so while the boys had an argument about who should go first in their shared bathroom, you and Brian would lock the door and take a looong bath. For a while since your grandkids and children were older, you had been meeting earlier at Jimmy's or Em's place. Em loved the twins in a way you were sure she never really meant to, they grew on her. Brian's kids, including your boys started planning Brian's birthdays in their own, so some years dinner would be themed, some years you would watch a movie all together and then have a pleasant dinner. Some years the twins got their way and had you all put on Hawaiian flowers around your necks for an oddly entertaining evening of vegetarian food and bad dancing. Jimmy never failed to take the fall with the twins while Louisa and Emily laughed at each side of Brian, holding on to his arms as they all laughed.
Brian didn't care much for gifts, over the years the twins had given him many small things, a tiny microscope from Fred when he was too young to know the difference between a microscope and a telescope; a Mickey Mouse watch bought with hard earned allowance saved by Harry that Brian wore religiously until it refused to work almost six years after he got it... a choker Freddie gave him as a joke when he was fifteen "it is never late to have an emo phase, dad!" A Kazoo that absolutely had Harry and Fred's mind blown during their first year in kindergarten, so of course: daddy needed one for his band! Among many other... though after they turned fourteen and got part time jobs the presents were more realistic, usually records for Brian to play on his turntable, books, badges and pins for his vests, etc.
I won't apologise for getting carried away. In fact I did get carried away. Whatcha gonna do? Sue me? Please don't.
