"Hee. Heeseung. Lee Heeseung!" your voice rang out in the icy night air.
"Yes! Sorry, baby I got distracted," your boyfriend's voice called out, immediately warming your chilled cheeks.
"It's fine," you laughed, "just help me up."
You reached your hand up and were immediately engulfed in the warmth of heeseung's large palm as he hauled you up onto the roof.
"Ah, there you go," he sighed.
You sat shoulder to shoulder in a comfortable silence, relishing in each other's company as you stared at the stars. It had been a while since you'd seen each other and it could be a while until you see eachother again.
Your eyes were drawn to a pair of stars that shone brighter than the rest and you began to think: Is this what they meant by star crossed lovers? Then I don't want it. I've always wanted a whirlwind love story but I never imagined something so sorrowful. Perhaps I should've been more specific, huh God?
Tears welled in your eyes and your nose began to burn at the thought. If only your family wasn't so average. If only you weren't so normal. Then maybe Heeseung wouldn't be so out of reach.
A soft hand brought you out of your reverie.
"Don't cry. Enjoy this moment. The stars are beautiful. Hey. Look at those two stars. That's us, shining brighter than everyone else. In time, nothing will be able to stop us."
You laughed bitterly, "How are you able to stay so positive?"
"It's because I'm so lucky!" He exclaimed.
You looked at him, confused.
"I've got the brightest star in the galaxy right next to me," he continued. "How could I not be positive when the mere thought of you can brighten up my day. I'm the luckiest man alive just to have known you. And I’m in disbelief that I have the opportunity to love you."
At this point tears were streaming down your face.
"Hee.." your voice cracked.
"Shh, love, it's okay. Let's just be together for now."
I stumbled across your interpretations of the months and what BTS member you think correlates, and they made me so happy!
So.. all of my gushing aside..
September??? It’s my birthday month but I also haven’t seen anyone ask for it yet. 💜💜
September is nervous smiles and doodling in the upper corner on your notebook. It's new, clean clothes and racing hearts. It's chocolate bars split between friends and memorizing your locker code.
September is falling in love. Falling fast and hard. It's your head in the clouds and driving behind a school bus, all the while remembering what it was like to be the one on the bus. It's years prior coming up to meet the present.
September is the present falling in love with the past. It's Jeon Jungkook, with wide eyes and excited giggles. It's Jungkook in the way September promises something great on the horizon, and the way the world opens up a little wider in order to accommodate all the dreams people have.
September is sitting by the window waving at you from across the playground. It's making us learn, making us stretch and reach toward our potential.
September is the pillar that holds the year up, where everything ends and begins in the blink of an eye.
Don't blink, it's too beautiful to miss.

also we're birthday month buddies! thanks for reading and requesting! :)
February is the boy that sits beside you in social studies. You never noticed him before, but something about the pinks and reds and purples littering the windows has you giving him a second look. It's shy glances and warm cheeks. February is daydreaming about color when the bleakness of winter is beginning to feel too heavy.
February is a log on the fire in the endless snow fall of the mountains, it's the hearts cut out of red cardstock and the way a child skips down the sidewalk in their boots. It's small moments in between lockers 323 and 327, where you feel like you might fly if that boy from social studies gives you another smile.
February is Hoseok inviting you to call him Hobi, and smiling at you like you're his whole world when you do. It's the sudden realization that the things you've dreamed about are capable of happening. It's the butterflies you feel as you're walking down the stairs in your dress and hear the doorbell ring.
February is like an oasis in the middle of a desert. Hobi is like a white flag of surrender, letting you fall into his arms rather than fall in battle.
February is the strength to go on, even when the warmth of the sun still feels so far away.

July is lit up under the lights of a thousand fireworks, baring itself for all the world to see. The nights are longer because you're up to see them. The stars seem brighter, and they make you want to dance even though you're not much of a dancer.
July is believing, even if it's for just a brief moment, that you can reach those stars. It's laughing until tears stream down your face and car rides with your eyes closed and your face turned to the sun. It's bright and hot and unbearable so you keep moving because the alternative is to lay down and never get up again until the sun has disappeared below the horizon.
July is Jungkook because it's what people cling to. It's the most filling, thrilling time of our lives and the little snapshots that we keep pasted to our walls. It's the memories that we remember even though we can't remember what exactly was said or why you felt so good that night; you just remember how it felt.
It's addicting. It leaves you breathless, it passes by in the blink of an eye. It's a kiss that makes you giggle and the relief of jumping into the cold water of a lake.
You look back on it with a smile.
You look back on it often.

And also, am i allowed to ask again 🥺🥺 cause I really want May or April 💐💐
May is like waking up.
May is hearing birds chirping outside your window for the first time in months. It's feeling perfectly warm as you step outside in the morning. It's going for a long walk and not saying a word; preferring to drink in the world around you.
May makes breathing easier. It's an infinite beginning and promise that life will have sunny days to come. It's endless possibilities thrust upon you late at night and leaning over to look out your window at the crescent moon.
May is Park Jimin. It's his soft hands reaching out to you, brushing your hair out of your eyes with a smile. It's realizing that his eyes are like melted caramel, even as he points out that yours are like April's rainfall.
May is looking around and seeing that the world, despite its human-inflicted scars, is forgiving.
It's forgiving yourself with every breath for the time you lost and the you that you left behind.
November, nestled in between such busy months, has a breathtaking, calming feeling to it. Harboring a certain warmth despite the woolen socks and knitted scarves you wear, November is like coming home. Coming home to warmth and love and peace.
November is looking up and catching the eye of someone across the dinner table, who gives you a soft smile. November is feeling like there's no rush to move onto the next big thing. It's grabbing a warm roll straight from the oven and losing in a board game but not minding because you're just happy to be together.
November is Namjoon. Soft smiles and eyes that know exactly what you're feeling, and don't fault you for it. It's an outstretched hand that never tires and the porch light left on. Namjoon is my comfort person, and November represents comfort. It represents being grateful for that little smile of encouragement.
November is sometimes forgotten. But that doesn't mean it's going anywhere.
It'll be waiting for you next year, ready to welcome you home.

It’s raining outside, but somehow everything is warm as you dance around the puddles. Seokjin keeps one hand in yours, chuckling as the two run for shelter. You knew it was a bad idea to go for a walk with the dark clouds rolling in like they were, but one look at Jin’s tired expression had you coaxing him out the door and into the evening.
And now here you are. Screaming and giggling as Jin pulls you under the shelter of the bus stop which is empty. He helps you push your hair out of your face, his eyes alight with mischievous joy as you look up at him.
“We’re going to catch our death out here,” you say, resting your head against the glass.
Jin shakes his head. “That would be the lamest cause of death ever.” He pauses, playing with a strand of your tangled hair. “But I'd die happy.”
It’s a strange thing to feel happy about, but you can’t help the grin that pushes through your features. Jin avoids your eyes as he freezes, dropping your hair and looking over your head as though watching for the bus.
It’s your turn to brush the hair from his face, stifling your laughter as you catch sight of Jin's red ears.
The two of you have been caught up in this strange friends-but-more relationship for months now. It’s obvious to you that there’s more going on here than just a regular friendship, but Jin always turns away before anything can become too serious.
When he’d grabbed your hand after you nearly fell earlier, you didn’t think much of it. You were fully prepared to simply drink in the temporary thrill before he released your hand and acted as though nothing had happened. But he never let go.
Now you realize the interesting position you’re in. Leaning up against the side of the glass wall, Jin towering over you as though singlehandedly protecting you from the rain.
Of course you’re not going to be the one to point out that there is a roof over your head now.
Jin makes no move to move away or move any closer, instead frozen before you as he stares out into the darkening night. Running your fingers through his hair in a thinly veiled attempt at flirting, you silently beg for those dark brown eyes to look at you again.
When they do, the rain become muffled in your ears as Jin’s eyes are the only thing you can focus on.
Would he believe you if you told him that you’ve loved him all along?
Jin’s eyes trace the line of your brows down to your jaw. They glance over your lips quickly, almost as though they might scald him if he looks for too long. When his eyes meet yours again, his lips have slightly parted.
If only he would move forward just a few inches.
“Seokjin-ah,” you whisper. The rain nearly drowns out your voice, but Jin’s eyes read your lips. “I’m cold now.”
From the way Jin’s lips curve upward just a hair, you can tell that he knows you’re lying.
“What do you want me to do about it?” Jin asks tauntingly, his voice low. You know you have to act fast, before he can disappear back into his typical joking persona. Anytime the two of you come any closer to something more, Jin always finds a way to back out before too much happens.
Watching those slightly parted lips, you chew on your own.
“Kiss me.”
The world spins at a dizzying speed, but you pay it no mind as Jin gasps lightly, searching your face for any sign of a joke. You’re serious though, blindly reaching out to trace the outline of his jaw.
When Jin doesn’t move - no, doesn’t breathe - you drop your hand and your gaze. Cheeks burning, you struggle to come up with some sort of excuse or way to play this off as a joke. How embarrassing, maybe you’d made this all up in your head. All the lingering gazes and sweet words must have been a figment of your desperate imagination -
Your thoughts are eclipsed by the feeling of a silky soft pair of lips against your cheek. They linger for a long moment, your eyes drifting shut as you revel in the feeling of Jin’s deft fingers lightly gripping your waist.
When the sweet kiss ends, Jin doesn’t pull away. Instead, he quietly whispers, “I always pictured us having our first kiss in the rain.”
You don’t have time to ask any questions before Jin is moving you out from under the bus stop awning, the two of you getting drenched in the downpour. You sputter and gasp in the rain, Jin laughing as he pulls you in closer.
Raindrops glide down his face and neck as he gives you a look that makes you conclude that none of this is in your imagination.
Perhaps you’re staring at him a little too intently, because Jin chuckles nervously in the way he always does when he feels that there’s too much attention on him.
“Close your eyes,” he mumbles, cupping your face. He runs a thumb over your cheek as your eyes fall shut. Your entire body is tingling with anticipation as the light sensation of his sigh fanning your face makes you aware of just how close he is.
“Do you know that I love you?” Jin whispers.
Your eyes fly open at his sudden confession, but they immediately close again as Jin’s lips brush up against yours.
The kiss is soft, tender. A confirmation of the sweet declaration Jin just made. You lean into the kiss, Jin’s arms coming down to wrap around your waist.
When the sound of a bus approaching reaches your ears, the two of you reluctantly part. Your smiles are wide as you gaze into each other’s eyes.
“Should we take the bus back?” Jin asks.
You nod, giggling a little as Jin’s hand slips into yours a little hesitantly. You give his hand a squeeze of reassurance. You board the bus, the driver looking at the two of you with a disapproving glare are you drip all over the seats.
“So you love me, huh?” You ask with a teasing grin once you’ve gotten situated on your seat. Jin looks at you with horror.
“I said that out loud?!”
You laugh loudly as Jin hides his face in his hands, trying to make him look at you. “Seokjin-ah, look at me.”
“I can’t. I can’t believe I said that out loud. Why didn’t you stop me?” He asks, sounding wounded.
You chuckle. “Because we were busy...?” Jin groans, only adding to your amusement. “Jin, look at me though.” When he shakes his head, you sigh. “Don’t you want to look at my face when I tell you that I love you too?”
You don’t think you’ve ever seen Jin’s head move that quickly before.
“You do?”
You shrug. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
You spend the rest of the ride bickering back and forth about who loves who, the bus driver inevitably turning up the radio so as to not have to hear you anymore.
masterlist
I was just listening to rainy BTS music on Youtube and my fingers slipped. Whoops. Was it any good?
January is the quiet after the world has gone into a deep slumber. It's confetti littering the floor and softly tiptoeing around the couch where your old self is still sleeping. It's your breath puffing out into the cold air and nuzzling deeper into the scarf wrapped around your neck.
January is unbelievably soft. It's forgiving as you stumble to remember to write the correct year down, and sends you a quiet smile as you nearly slip on ice. January returns to work with new enthusiasm, filled with dreams that you don't share with everyone but keep close to your heart.
Min Yoongi looks like January to me. He looks like the silhouette sitting on the edge of my bed, lacing up his boots before dusting a delicate kiss on the tip of my nose. He'll slip out early in the morning, off to work while I stay in bed, seeking the warmth that just won't come.
January is the unmistakable sound of a door softly closing, shutting out the previous year and making me wonder if the new one will be half as good.
Half as wonderful. Half as beautiful.
January is Yoongi coming home to remind you that even if my new year is is half as good, there's no need to worry. Cold, strong hands take your own and slowly grow warm as he gently tells you that together, two halves make a whole.
January is for you to take on the blank canvas of the new year. It's for deep breaths and diving in.
