where: sharky's, at the bar
An ignored text is nothing that Alfie would take personally.
There hadn't been much time for talking before or after Baby had been in his bed and he was no stranger to a one night stand. He's less accustomed to the behaviour that followed, starting with how Baby had fled his apartment like he was a fugitive on the lam.
( With a name like Baby, he could have been. Alfie never got a chance to ask. )
He had tried not to read too much into that until two weeks prior to Halloween when he had been at Sharky's on a Friday night and could only get a drink from any bartender but the one he had briefly known intimately.
That night, he let it go.
This night, while dressed like a biker and watching him pass him by for the third time as he stood beside the bar obviously waiting for service, it fucks him off.
He waves away another bartender who asks what he would be having, pointing to Baby at the other end of the bar and insisting that he would order from him. Whether it was two or twelve minutes that passed until he became unavoidable, Alfie didn't know but stubbornness would have kept him stood there until two in the morning if needs be.
Once the moustachioed menace was within earshot, he leans his forearms on the bar so he could hear him plainly when he spoke in answer to being asked what he wanted.
"I want a beer and a double shot of what the fuck is your problem, dude?"
