Artist Research - Vans Dusty Lines
“Artistically filmed in black and white, Italian skaters; Mattia Turco, Icaro Nardi, Simone Verona, Jacopo Picozza, Carlo Cassan, Nikolò Bromo and Adalberto Rinaldiuse creatively spot skateable structures. The film follows them through graffiti-filled corridors as they give blood, sweat and tears to forge an unforgettable experience.
Directed by Turin-based director Alberto Chimenti Dezani and with videography by Patrick Delorenzi, the film captures the instinctual and abstract ways that skateboarders turn neglected locations into skateboarding biospheres.”
I think this multi-media piece is very well directed and captivates the essence of skating. It captures the blood sweat and tears of the skaters as they continue to look for new skate spots; this could relate to my brief as Skate Falmouth tries to forge new ways to skate, new places to skate, and much much more.

Plant Organs
Plant organs include leaves, stems and roots.
Examples of plant tissues are:
Epidermal tissues -- these cover the plant
Mesophyll -- photosynthesis occurs here
Xylem and phloem -- these transport substances from one part of the plant to another.
Animal Organs
Large multicellular organisms develop organ systems to perform certain functions. During development, cells differentiate so that they are able to perform their specific function.
A tissue is a group of cells whose structure and function is the same or similar.
Examples of tissues are:
Muscular tissue -- these contract so that the organism can move
Glandular tissue -- these produce (secrete) substances such as hormones and enzymes
Epithelial tissue -- some parts of the body are covered in this.
Tissues make up organs. One organ can be made up of several different tissues.
An example of an organ is the stomach. The stomach is made up of:
Muscular tissue -- this churns up the contents
Glandular tissue -- this produces digestive juices
Epithelial tissue -- this covers the outside and inside of the stomach.
Organ systems are groups of organs that work together to perform a specific function.
An example of an organ system is the digestive system. This contains:
Glands -- these produce digestive juices (examples of glands in the digestive system include the pancreas and the salivary glands)
The stomach and small intenstine -- this is where digestion occurs
The liver -- this produces bile
The small intestine -- this is where soluble food is absorbed
The large intestine -- this is where water is absorbed from undigested food, producing excretion (poop).
Tissues, Organs and Organ Systems
In multicellular organisms, cells differentiate to become adapted to their particular functions.
Tissues are groups of similar cells doing the same job.
Organs are groups of tissues performing a particular function.
Organs are grouped into organ systems, which work together to form organisms.
