Although my electronics and games are all still in Korean, and it’s a natural pick for recipes and audio stories, it’s been about a year since I did some actual studying. I took this challenge and the new GI update as a nice opprtunity to get back into it. I kept a little log of words and characters I was unsure about and picked one to memorise daily! since i also need to practice english here’s a little
mildly random vocab list ~ + a few characters
쇠사슬 쇄 ; was bound to come up, in a story about a locked up mine.
Here’s a few examples of it that come up relatively often.
- 봉쇄 封鎖 | a blockade, sealed up, on lockdown
- 폐쇄 閉鎖 | closure, shutdown, close off
- 쇄국 / 쇄항 | national isolation / closed off ports like in Inazuma; 이나즈마 쇄국령 폐지
to urge, to prod, force or hurry someone into doing sth
seemed like a useful word irl
I was surprised I didn’t know this one ! there’s no way it hasn’t come up before. That’s
겉 표. another one that just seemed good to know. a few common ones:
- 표피 表皮 | ( outer layer of ) skin , epidermis, like cuticles mostly
- 표지 表示 | ( book - ) cover, binding. used in the photography event a lot as well !!
mainly added this one in bc it was used twice within one dialogue, once concerning stone / surface, once concerning someone’s manner of speech/
interrogate, question throrougly. can also be used 책임을- hold accountable, which would make sense in this context.
7 | 휘두르다 | swing / wield a sword, weapon or fist or a pen !
also 폭력을- exert violence. Context was the photography challenge, have a Liyue character swing their sword violently i guess lol

Now that seven days are over I might as well keep going. As I didn’t end up getting my level 6 , I might as well make it a goal for next year !
