What happens the night Sansa reunites with Jon in Castle Black.

Yes. Yes. This. Is. The. Content. I. Signed. Up For. 

Okay but honestly it’s a true testament to the strength of the writer/writing that a story this short that doesn’t even feature a chaste kiss sets my heart a-flutter. Also, post-Ramsey hurt/comfort is my absolute kink and I am not ashamed. 

This is the first part in a two part series, the second of which tells the rest of the short tale from Jon’s point of view. I wish it was longer, I would gladly keep reading this for the rest of my life.

Summary: 

Arya doesn't understand Sansa. She especially doesn't understand Sansa's relationship with Jon. But she's trying.

Comments:

This is what should have happened in season 7. Even without the Jon/Sansa (which I adored) this communication and bonding between the Stark sisters is exactly what I would have liked to see. Seeing how Arya comes to a place of respecting and trusting Sansa and the two of them starting to hatch a plan is everything I needed. That said, the undercurrent of chemistry between Jon and Sansa, though it is so subtle and we don’t even get so much as a kiss, is so powerful and well written that simple lines about a look exchanged or concern for the other affected me more than full blown smut in other stories. That is the power of this story. I love it. Absolutely would recommend.

Summary:

Hermione, rather than Ron, accompanies Harry to see the Mirror Erised, which leads to a better outcome for all involved.

Comments:

I AM LITERALLY SOBBING OHHH MY GOD.

This is??? So sweet???? So pure??? Never thought a fic about innocent little eleven year olds would get me like this.

The author did something I found so admirable I have to comment on it first. They actually captured what it's like inside an eleven year old's head, with Harry's cluelessness about "adult" emotions and how he even copies gestures like comforting Hermione because he's seen it elsewhere. It's just excellent, a breath of fresh air. So often I see kids written with a full adult range of emotions and way too much self awareness + awareness about the world.

“At last, they reached the room where the mirror was. Harry folded the cloak. He noticed that Hermione was smoothing her hair. Well, perhaps he'd better do the same. She might know something he didn't, after all.” ^ THIS. THIS PASSAGE RIGHT HERE. I mean this was chock-full of lovely lines but this one really got me. It captures that childhood mentality I mentioned earlier, for once. AND HARRY. COPYING HERMIONE. BECAUSE HE JUST DEFERS TO HER SUPERIOR KNOWLEDGE. He doesn't even question that it may have nothing to do with him.. he's just like "she knows better. let me learn from her." There is something so sweet about it, so indicative of the respect and deference he has for her

Not to mention the ending!!!!!

*screams into a megaphone* HARRY NEVER HAS TO GO BACK TO THE DURSLEYS HARRY LIVES WITH TONKS AND HER FAMILY WHO ENDEARINGLY CALLS HIM "COUSIN HARRY" HE IS HAPPY HE IS LOVED

Summary:

Killian is drowning his sorrows in alcohol, while Emma is just drowning. Set immediately after Emma returns from New York.

Comments:

I love dark, drunken escapades in which two people of an otp (any otp, really) try to drink away their regrets, their sadness, their mistakes. It's just one of my guilty-pleasure settings, because it's rare to come across a story that's written badly in that setting. At least, I've been lucky so far. And it happened again. I loved Killian's attitude towards Emma, gentle because of her obvious woes, but still him. I like how it ended, with David and Snow not being obtuse lol.
